Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Built on the hillside within the beautiful Glentress Forest (part of Tweed Valley Forest Park), our Go Ape Peeblesshire Tree Top Adventure makes good use of the valley for some jaw dropping exposure, and features our highest zip wire over the reservoirs in the valley. Take to the trees and speed down zip slides. They’re part of an exciting course of rope bridges, Tarzan swings and crossings; all set high above the forest floor. If you’re looking for things to do near Edinburgh, extend your day out with us. The small town of Peebles is just 2.5 miles away and has a great High Street with more independent shops than any other town in Scotland for great days out with the family.

I took my son (13 years) off for a forest adventure while my wife was off at the spa. We haven't been to a Go Ape! before but this was absolutely excellent. Really well planned routes, great staff with just the right amount of advice and encouragement. The visit lasted 2.5 hours in total including the briefing time. The route is divided into a short introduction followed by 4 main stages, each starting with a rope ladder climb to get you high off the forest floor. But the safety equipment is first class and despite a fair amount of trepidation we did everything - rope walks, tarzan swings, climbing through barrels and the incredible zip wires. The best zip wire is the last - over 300m across an entire valley. It's so exhilarating! My son also has been nervous about things like abseiling before but really enjoyed this course.

It's expensive (£30 adult, £20 child) but we felt it was a great afternoon.

We are a family of 4 with 2 girls aged 11 and 13 and we thought we'd have an afternoon with a difference so we went to Glentress and GoApe. What a great afternoon it was. We all felt very safe after our training from Blair and we were set for the off. The trip through the trees involves climbs up rope ladders, balancing across logs and ropes, tarzan swings and zip lines. All the while we were securely attached to the safety cord.
The zip lines were fantastic and so high. The speed was just enough to get the blood moving a little quicker.
All in all, it took us 2 and a half hours to get round with little rushing. We talked about it over a cup of tea and a cake in the cafe. The girls loved it and are still talking about it.
