I have now visited Tweed Cottage on several occasions Spring, Summer and Winter. Have just spent a week there over Christmas. All the visits have been so enjoyable, the cottage is so comfortable, quiet but still central for all amenities.
I look forward to a return visit.
This is the 2nd time we have been in Tweed Cottage that more or less says it all.Unfortunately we had to leave early due to a bereavement in the family. We will definitely be back everything you need in cottage and must rate the location spot on walking distance from shops to eating places. Would recommend. Thank you to the owner Caroline.
We spent three nights in Tweed Cottage whilst visiting family in the area.
We normally stay in local hotels but wanted the flexibility and convenience of a 'place to ourselves'. We were not disappointed, as we found it's location, right on the main street, ideal with plenty parking nearby and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants.
Being right in the centre of town suggests a lot of associated traffic noise but as the cottage is set back from the road and with it's double glazing, it was kept to a minimum. We had three great nights sleep in the lovely kingsize bed.
The cottage was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm (essential in October). In addition, eveyrthing worked which is not always the case in rented accommodation.
Tweed Cottage deserves all it's great reviews.
As a headquarters for trekking the glorious Tweed River valley or striding into town for a great meal, groceries, or pharmacy items, Tweed Cottage could not be more perfect. A few feet in one direction you're on the charming business street. The other way, it's a minute's walk to the briskly flowing Tweed, lined with parks and forest, with a trail leading to Neidpath Castle and beyond. In the two rooms (bedroom, bath, and big closet are upstairs) are everything one needs for comfort and cooking, clean and attractive, with a working fireplace for charm. The owner Caroline was very responsive to any questions. The loudest sounds we heard from the cottage were occasional cheerful squeals of children from the churchyard next door. Though "cottage" may imply a free-standing stone charmer; this one is attached along a small stucco group on a private "close," or alley, with an old stone wall on one side of it. May not make for great exterior photos, but you'll love it every time you step through the door going in or out.
Lovely cottage for a weekend. Has everything needed for a very pleasant stay and a comfy bed In the town centre so very handy for all the shops and a good variety of eating places. Much appreciated welcome pack. Owner gave excellent directions and lots of local information. Peebles is really worth a visit with lovely river walks and some nice shops to potter round.
Nice Cottage with good surrounding. It was quiet and you could reach everything in due time without a car.
