Have stayed at this hotel several times and always found all the staff very helpful and courteous. The bedrooms (we've stayed in 3 different ones) are spacious, beds large and very comfortable. The rooms have modern flatscreen TVs. During our visit the weather was unusually hot and the receptionist kindly offered us the use of a fan for the bedroom which we really appreciated. The food is of good quality, well cooked and well presented. The service was excellent in the dining room and we cannot give any negative comments. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a nice visit to the Dumfries area.

Thank Marianne B

12 of us, (four generations) including two young children ate privately in the Pullman room recently for a small family celebration. We chose the menu from a selection of dishes given to us prior to the day. The children (6+4) ate with us at the table, but had their own wee table to sit and play at when they were done. The food was excellent, service faultless and we had a lovely day, sitting at the table well into the afternoon. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Station for this type of event, in fact, we are doing it again in August.

I was there with some friends for dinner, the restaurant was closed (December 23rd) but they were serving food at the bar. We ordered some drinks and keep chatting and thinking if we should eat in the bar (tables are not comfortable for dinner) or if we should look for another restaurant. As it was too cold outside we decided to stay. We ordered fish and chips, curry and steak. It took almost 1 hour for the food to come - and we were the only ones in the bar. After dinner, when the bill came, the friends that had the steaks complained (among us), as they were not cheap (£22) and were not good at all (not fresh and too overdone). While we were talking about it, out of nowhere, comes this lady saying that she could not stand there watching us saying bad things about the food as her staff was trying their best. She was really intimidating. She asked if the waiter didn't ask if everything was ok, we said he did (he was nice indeed), but after so much time waiting, we were really hungry, and with all the food in the table, how could we ask for them to change the steaks? And risk waiting another hour for it? No, we were ok. We told her to don't bother, we just wanted to pay and leave. But she kept lecturing us. We were really surprised and kind of scared. If our experience with the food was not good, after this awkward situation, for sure we will not come back there again. Who knows what this lady can do, we don't even know who she is, as she never introduce herself, but, poor staff... if she treats the guests like that, imagine how she treats her staff.
