This house contains so much information about Burns life in Dumfries that it is a true gem. It is a must for any true student of Burns and things Burnsian. It is a short hop from the churchyard where the great poet is interred. A visit to the churchyard is a wonderful and imposing history lesson in itself.

“Interesting”

Lots of interesting things to see and read. A must for Burns enthusiasts. There are steps into the property and stairs inside so access is limited.

“Amazing to stand in the footsteps of Burns”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

This free attraction is well worth a visit just to say you stood where Robert Burns stood. To see his name scratched into the window by his own hand and all the other artefacts great. Just across the road is the Kirk yard where Burns is buried pay your respects when you visit.

Nothing not to like if you are interested in the life and works of Rabbie Burns. Great insight into his life in the time he spent in and around Dumfries

“Step back in time”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

Get a real feeling of Robert Burns and his latter life.
The house is not preserved in aspic, but does give an authentic flavour of how the house was when Burns lived and died here.
Lots if original artifacts connected with the bard and his life.
FREE entry!
