The new Dino Park in Carrutherstown (just outside Dumfries), Dumfries & Galloway is a fantastic attraction. Be prepared to enter a fantastical world of creatures big and small! My first impression of the park was that it had been impeccably well conceived and constructed - creating a entirely new atmosphere...the kids' imaginations run wild! I took my neice and nephew and they thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so that they didn't want to leave and they've been hassling all the adults in the family to take them back to Dino Park ever since!

The Dino Park is such great value and offers an AFFORDABLE day out for the family. I think it's very good that they offer an all-day pass, whereas other places in the area cost the same, or more, for only a limited amount of time. I thought the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

My favourite family day out! Highly recommend it!

So pleased that this place has been opened up! It is a great, different attraction for Dumfries and galloway and will hopefully attract more tourists to the area. The ownerd genuine interest in dinosaurs is shown 110% through the attention to detail and layout of the place. Great

Follow the floor signs through the garden centre to the newly opened dino park. The brick path offer easy access to all, and the park is relatively sheltered. It is well laid out, with a one way route through, but you can go back in if you keep your wristband. There are a wide range if dinosaurs to see, some surprisingly big, with facts about each. Every hour, there is a story read by a ranger and dinosaur questions and answers too. The mine section is short and about 5' in height, but can be bypassed for anyone who can't manage through. The staff on hand are very friendly and helpful. There is a portacabin cafe with outside seating by the bouncy castle, but a superior selection of food and drinks are available in the Oak Tree tearoom in the garden centre which also has high chairs, baby food heating, baby changing, and quieter corners good for feeding baby. The gardens in the dino park are attractive, and there are a couple of benches for a wee sit down on the way round. There are two portaloos at the end of the dino park trail. There is a wheelchair to borrow at garden centre entrance. £10 for a family of four.
If, like us, you have someone who loves dinosaurs, you can spend happy hours here, otherwise you'll be through in half an hour. We've been twice since it opened two weeks ago, and plan many more visits. If you include lunch in the tearoom and a meander around the garden centre, this could make a relaxed day out.

Visited Dino Park with 7 year old twin grandsons during the Easter school holidays. The park is an new attraction within the existing garden centre. It is well laid out and the boys were very excited to see the dinosaur models which are well presented in among trees and shrubs. Information plaques provided clear simple facts about each dinosaur. Half way round there are two dino dig excavation stations and the boys were able to dig amongst the sand to expose fossilised skeletons. We all donned hard hats to go 'down a mine' which was a short walk through a tunnel - dark but not scary for wee ones. The bouncy castle was a big hit and supervised by a ranger. A small portacabin sold drinks teas ice creams etc, but the garden center itself has a full restaurant reasonably priced. Park rangers were all really friendly and there are set times throughout the day for rangers to talk to the kids about dinosaurs. Photo opportunities are well sign posted and the wrecked jeep was a big attraction for the boys. Entrance prices are reasonable - £4 for kids, £2 for adults and £1.50 for Grannies! All the staff were very friendly and the inevitable shop at the end was not overpriced and stocked appropriately. We will be back!
