Being local I have visited the museum many times over the years, but, perhaps not as often as I should.
It has a great variety of local, area and national artefacts on display over three floors and as others have mentioned the staff are always very pleasant and eager to answer any questions.
It is highly informative and of interest to all age groups from young children upwards.
Whilst still being worth visiting to spend a couple of hours on a wet day, do try to go on a clear sunny day to reap full benefit of the star attraction - the Camera Obscura. This device offers crystal clear 360 degree views of the town and from it's high vantage point captures the vast majority of Dumfries and the surrounding area.
