Lauren demonstrated excellent customer service last weekend by going above and beyond helping us with an early check in and a hopeless taxi! Thanks very much.

Clean, good location. Bit expensive - £78 a night room only.

Whenever we need a quick stop over or a place to stay for 1 or 2 nights, premier inn hasn't let us down yet.

The bedroom was a good size with a really comfy king size bed. I have a 20 month old daughter and we had booked a cot which was already set up for us. Good size tele and lovely clean bathroom.

The staff member on reception on arrival was very friendly and asked if we needed anything just to let her know.

The restaurant on site is Table Table. We never ate there in the evening, but they do lots of offers which looked good. We did however go there for breakfast. It is a little expensive as it's £8.75 per person, however, for what you get it's very good. Considering you would probably pay £6 plus for a breakfast alone elsewhere, it is a good price. Breakfast includes continental options such as muffins, yogurts, toast, cereals, fruits and croissants, full english including bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, beans, hash browns and tomatoes (order as much as you want) and orange, apple or cranberry juice, selection of teas and Costa coffee. You can also buy just the continental breakfast. 2 kids can eat free with every full breakfast ordered.

Would definitely recommend this hotel and if you get a good price (we paid £39 for a night) it can actually be better and nicer than staying in a top end hotel. And you can always guarantee a clean bedroom with a comfy bed!

Room Tip: Family friendly rooms are usually downstairs, however, we always ask for an upstairs room as you won...

We stayed here in a family room (parents, 7 year old and 2 year old).

We had been making a long car journey and had stayed in a couple of other Premier Inns earlier in the week which were outstanding and cheaper than this one, so to be honest this one was a little bit of a disappointment.

Its fine, there is nothing actually wrong with it. Its just a bit tired - our room was clean and comfortable, but its at the stage where it could do with being painted and spruced up, and the same for the corridor areas.

If I'd stayed in this one first before the others I would probably have been thinking what great value it was, but actually the others were cheaper and much more modern.

But, there's nothing actually wrong with it, and the lady on the check in desk was lovely.

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Premier Inn Dumfries.

I am sorry that you found your stay disappointing due to the appearance of the hotel, however you will be pleased to know that a full refurbishment of all areas and an extension of a further 20 bedrooms began this week and is due to be completed by later in the year.

Hopefully on your next visit to Dumfries you'll have the opportunity to stay in our fantastic new rooms, which I am sure you will agree will be much more modern.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn Dumfries in the near future.

We stayed two nights here, with grandparents and children. Quiet and comfortable, good parking and access to main routes. Staff are really friendly once you get to know them. 30min free wifi is not enough, however, and breakfast was too expensive at £8.75 (eat as much as you like.)
We would all stay here again though, especially if the advanced booking rates stay as low as £39, you can't go wrong.

Dear Guest

Thank you for recent review of Premier Inn Dumfries.

I am pleased that my team was so friendly and that you found your stay to be quiet and comfortable.

Our Premier Breakfast often represents excellent value for money (especially when there are children who eat free), however I am sorry that you found the price too high on this occasion.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn Dumfries on your next visit (keep an eye out online for the 'Saver Rates', which as you say are great value).

Generally stay at Premier Inn three or four times a year for short leisure breaks and used Dumfries as a base to explore the attractions of South West Scotland. Have had no faults in previous stays but on this occasion the staff at breakfast were non existent and I had to leave my table during both days of my stay to find staff to order a hot breakfast. There was also no welcome when coming down to breakfast on both mornings. On a more positive note receptionist was excellent and seemed genuinely interested in myself as a customer and enquired about what I was planning to do during my visit. All in all a good stay just let down by poor customer service at breakfast. Would stay here again though and plan to visit another part of this part of Scotland next year. A word of warning if you are looking for peace and quiet avoid rooms at the back of the hotel as they face the main A75 trunk road and although screened by trees and hedges lorries do go past at all hours of the night on their way to the ferry terminal at Cairnryan.

Always nice to stay at Dumfries Premier Inn. Welcoming staff. Not sure about the restaurant food, chose to buy my own food not for cost saving, the menu appears poorer than other premier inn restaurants but maybe I'm wrong (Curry definitely needs chutney)
