Friendly and helpful service, good renovated shower. Fairly hot rooms but sheets available to replace doonas. No problem at all with Premier Inn but the attached restaurant left a lot to be desired as when we called in at 5.30 to book a table we were told that none would be available until 8.15 although there was hardly anyone there at the time. We were also told that there would be no serving of meals at the bar tables as they would be too busy. We left and went elsewhere.

This was a good save for me as the hotel I had originally booked had no one on duty at night and I was quite delayed getting into town. The Premier Inn was open 24 hrs and was happy to accommodate me last minute.
The only room they had for sure available to two nights was a handicapped room so I got to see what that would be like for a different type of guest.
It was well appointed for a disabled person as everything was situated in such a way as to be very accessable. The bed was a bit lower than normal, there were emergency call buttons, and the shower was open with great safety bars and a sturdy fold down chair. I would Highly recommend it for anyone with a disability. It wasn't bad staying in it without special requirements either. While the bed was low it wasn't so low it was a problem for me, and I have super long legs!

We stopped at the Premier Inn on the outskirts of Dumfries for the night on route to Oban.

The hotel met our expectations with respect to what we expected in a double room (e.g. Satellite TV, comfy bed, free wifi etc.) however it was as not as big as we have to come expect from stays at other Premier Inns. It was also a considerable walk to the room through a maze of corridors!

Having said that the property was well kept, the reception staff were very good and there was plenty of parking outside.

Room Tip: look for one near reception

We booked 4 rooms for 8 people for a weekend golf trip. Having stayed there before and had good experiences we new what to expect...or so we thought. The temperature in the rooms was stifling as they were west facing and the sun had shone for a few days. Hotel great but rooms 139 along that corridor please avoid.

My wife and I had an overnight stop at this hotel on our way from Kent to the Scottish highlands. Having driven nearly 400 miles, we wanted a restful night before our onward journey. The room we were assigned was on the lower floor, which proved to be a slight issue as (unlike most of the other Premier Inn hotels we have stayed in) the floors creak. The guests staying in a room above ours were up and walking around before 6 am. This disturbed our sleep. Similarly the corridor outside had a creaking floor and the doors to the rooms did not seem to have the slow closing feature which also created a disturbance. This appears to be an older building which would certainly benefit by a noise reduction upgrade. There is no air conditioning although a fan is provided.

We found the room to be immaculately clean with all the features associated with Premier Inn. The tea and coffee making equipment is always welcome and we found the free WiFi to be strong and reliable. We ate at the ‘Table, table’ restaurant on site - very convenient and reasonably priced as part of the meal deal.
