A group of us took over the hotel and had a fantastic time. After each game, we were able to get our trolley batteries recharged. When it rained , they had a drying room for all our clothes, clubs etc. Breakfasts were excellant, either full british or continental or a combination of both. Rooms were great with comfy beds.

This was the most welcoming of hotels I've stayed in - and I travel a lot on business. Our hosts, Terry and Lynne keep a very tidy and clean establishment. They were very helpful and attentive, and able to provide excellent recommendations for dining and other local facilities. I would certainly highly recommend this hotel and will use it again should the opportunity arise.

Me and my boyfriend stayed for one night last Saturday. We were greeted by the owner Terry who immediately recommended us the best pub to eat and drink in the city. The room was nice and bright thanks to a big bay window with a lovely view. The bed was very comfy and we had an amazing sleeep.Breakfast in the morning was perfect with a big selection of cereals and cooked breakfast was very tasty. In the hotel there is also a large bar on the ground floor very quiet and welcoming with a good selection of beers.

being a regular traveller through business and pleasure this is one of the most welcoming hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in. it is ideally located for the train station and has a number of restaurants nearby. the hotel itself has newly refurbished bedrooms matching the rest of the hotel's high quality decor. the breakfast was delicious, with a varied choice, enjoyed in the warm atmosphere of the hotel dining/breakfast room. there is also a lovely bar for an after work refreshment and a nice patio/garden area outside, which I am sure is a welcome addition in the warmer months! terry and lynne were most obliging at all times and were very knowledgeable on local history and surrounding places to visit, always a bonus! I would certainly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying the next time I am in Dumfries.

Our cycling party of eight stopped here on the last night of the "Lochs and Glens" route. The welcome was warm and friendly and we were given excellent secure accommodation for the bikes. The hotel is a fine building in top condition and our rooms were really clean and comfortable with everything you could need. We had an evening meal at the Cavens Arms, at our host's suggestion, and a very good suggestion it was! Breakfast back at the hotel was just as good, the best we'd had all the way. Recommend this hotel whole-heartedly.
