We stayed here on our way back from the Commonweath Games for 3 nights. Firstly it is very impressive as you arrive in the grounds of the hotel. A huge car park is provided & there is a delightful outside seating area which is very tastefully presented. We were afforded a fantastic welcome from Terry & Lynne who showed us to our room even taking our case up ( believe me this is very rare these days!) The reception hall is very impressive, which is typical of a Scottish hotel but the baronial & boutique mix is very classy, as is the carpet on the spiral stairs to the first floor. We were in room 1 which is a good size with twin beds. The bathroom is very tastefully decorated, and a hospitality tray is well equipped. The Wi-Fi is easy to connect to & reliable. The breakfast is everything you could wish for & as you order in advance it is freshly cooked & served at your requested time. I was unwell one of our days here & I was afforded kind concern from Terry who simply should be given the hotelier 2014 award. Terry helped us plan our days out with insightful local knowledge which was invaluable. Would we stay again...? You bet we would !

Room Tip: Our room was adjacent to trees which we suspect did invite some midges in to bite us terribly...howe...

Really comfortable friendly place. Terry was always there to recommend places to see, drink and eat. He even drew up a route for our journey up to Oban so that we could avoid the crowds going to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Room Tip: Our room (8) did not have power shower so water pressure a bit low but not really a problem.

I stayed at the HHH whilst in Dumfries for a friend’s wedding. The hotel is ideally located for the train station and just a short walk into the town centre. The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the owners were welcoming and helpful – even offering us some help to avoid the midges given the wedding was in a nearby forest park and we were all in kilts.

If ever in Dumfries again I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel. Many thanks.

The hotel is located about 10-15 min walking distance from the town center. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and were shown to our room (second floor, no elevator, but not n issue at all). The room was spacious, very clean, comfortable bed, clean bathroom with nice toiletries. Free internet throughout the facility. Breakfast was great, fresh food with a good selection (you fill out a card the night before and you can always ask for more if you wanted). Loved the French-pressed coffee! Plenty of free parking space. Will definitively recommend to stay here.

An excellent hotel.Very clean and friendly.Bedroom was comfortable,Nice touches such as tissues on the side cabinet and a sewing kit in the bedside drawer.Local guides on what to do and see also in the room.
The ensuite was well provided with towels and even bathrobes.
The breakfast was to order and was cooked well, with extra toast if wanted.
I would happily stay there again.

Just spent 2 nights in this Hotel, got to say it is the best i have stayed in , re Dumfries and i have stayed in a good few. great situation and so convenient for the town, just a short walk over the bridge and its the town centre. Train staion is only 2 minutes away. the Hotel itself is spotless, luv the carpet, the rooms are great and beds good ,you never want for any toiletries, the hosts were so welcoming, Terry you need some Carling in the bar.
Plenty tables outside to sit and enjoy the sunshine , parking , just loads of room to park,,, just could not fault the place at all. will try and stay there again on my next visit to Dumfries.
The situation also makes the place so quiet and peaceful,, excellent.
Thanks folks.

Room Tip: Rooms are all just great.

Nicely situated as you enter Dumfries from the North it is handy for the town and the station should you be travelling by rail. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our spacious accommodation. Everything you require is provided in the room and the hosts are very attentive and keen to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was selected from a tick menu the evening before and was served on time and proved to be very enjoyable.
Overall our second visit was as good as the first and I would happily recommend a stay there.
There is no provision for an evening meal but the Station Hotel is a short walk and provides a good menu as well as plenty of other eating places in town.
