We stayed here as the last place on our trip round Scotland. Lovely clean comfortable rooms and they accept dogs. Breakfast was fantastic and plenty of it. A walk of about 10 mins into Dumfries so ideally situated. Would definitely recommend.

Glenlossie Guest House is a fantastic place to stay, run as it is by such friendly, helpful and genuinely interested people. The room was clean and very comfortable, with all the things that could possibly be needed for a stay away from home. The ensuite was well equipped with a shower that - for someone with slight mobility problems - was a joy to use! The breakfast is one of the best I have had in a hotel, which took the whole experience of B & B into a different world.

We had the pleasure of staying at Glenlossie on 12th April. We were able to check on early so we could leave our bags as we had an ice hockey match to get to. We had a great nights sleep and breakfast the next morning was excellent. What a lovely place to stay.

Stayed for a one nighter in Dumfries, we intended to come touring on the motorbikes but the weather was "dreake"so we used the car instead. We got one of the last room (one of the older rooms) which nice and clean if a little tired and small. The electric shower took a bit of balancing to get it right and the bathroom was a bit short on shelves to put stuff stuff. Everyone was really friendly and I have to admit that the Breckie was one the best I have had in any hotel and I spend a lot of time in hotels.

We are just back from 2 nights at this wonderful guest house in Dumfries. The owners couldn't have been kinder throughout our stay. The breakfasts are wonderful (you really won't need lunch). Our dog was allowed to stay free of charge which was brilliant. Two of our party were mountain biking and came back VERY muddy but the drying room soon sorted everything out for the next days adventure.
We will definitely be back for our next short stay in Dumfries!

I've just come back from a 2 night stay at the Glenlossie Guest House.
I was in Dumfries watching Ice Hockey, and found the hotel on-line. What a gem of a place.
From the moment I arrived I was impressed. The rooms were in the new block at the hotel - spacious, tea and coffee facilities, with Viscount Mint Biscuits, big double shower and spotlessly clean. The hotel were able to give me directions to the Ice Rink, and also asked the next morning if i'd found it all ok. The directions they gave included the Arena's phone number, postcode (for SatNav) and also the the area was next to the football ground so I could follow the floodlights.
Breakfast at the hotel was a mixtures of cereals and fruit alongside cooked options. Food was all cooked fresh and was all good quality.
Location is great for the Town of Dumfries (under 1mile), where you can catch up on the history of Scottish Poet Robbie Burns, who is also burried in the town. It is also a great base for exploring the Solway Coastline, which has lots of little villages with country pubs and tea houses looking out over the sea.
Next time i'm in Dumfries, this is definitely the hotel I would choose. The big chains are just down the road, but they are more expensive, for less features and a less personal staff !!
For me the Glenlossie wins everytime.

Room Tip: I stayed at the back of the hotel which was quiet. However, I walked back to the hotel at 11pm, and...

Believe all the reviews. The rooms are very comfortable and just what you need - lots of lovely touches. We were greeted with a smile and very friendly and that continued for the 2 nights we were there for. The fact that you were told you could use dishes from the dining room if you wanted to bring a takeaway in, made it feel so welcoming. The breakfast is extensive and absolutely gorgeous, whatever you wanted, and the way you wanted it too. We didn't need to bother the staff, but I would say that it would not have been a bother if needed. Have even recommended it now for daughter to go.

Facilities: off road parking - fridge in room, TV (also DVD player available if you want it too), Disabled room and bathroom excellent.

Will not look past this place next time in Dumfries
