I stayed here as a bride to be along with my fiance, our children, and 35 friends and family members. we stayed for 3 nights. staff were friendly and helpful at all times. the children were made very welcome including our 17 month old son who loved exploring the downstairs rooms.

the rooms are different sizes. we stayed in room 1 which was a honeymoon suite with sitting room and en suite. the room was lovely, and my girlfriends all stayed in the room of the same size above it. that room is more modern but we prefered the older room with a beautiful fireplace. i really did feel like a princess!!! some rooms were small but they were the buget end of the market. one had 2 double beds which is good for families and they will add extra beds if you want them for a SMALL EXTRA COST TO COVER BREAKFAST. pods are probably better for 2 or 3 people and have heaters and a light and electric sockets.

the food was lovely and the amound of food on a plate was enough for 2 in some cases!!! all was very well presented and tasted great. drinks were comparable to pub prices too.
the grounds are lovley and the kids loved the adventure playground just outside the hotel ground... in fact, so did the adults!! there was a fight over the zip wire!!!! there are lovely woodland walks to go on as well.

we will be coming back to this hotel!!!

Loved the pods themselves and the location is perfect, tucked away in the lovely grounds of this traditional Scottish hotel. A few things to think about though:

- the pods are advertised as for 4 - I would say they are comfortable for 3 - when you lay out the 4 matresses the entire floor space of the pod is used up - i.e. nowhere for your bags.
- the loo / shower is eccentric - you'll know what I mean if you visit - there is only one and it is a bit of a walk from the pods
- there is no water tap nearaby
- unlike some other pods I have seen there is no kettle or anything other than the mattresses inside the pods - it really is like just having a wooden tent so you'll need to bring all your camping cooking gear unless you plan to purchases food / drinks from the hotel or nearby MTBers cafe.

So in summary the pods are great, loved the location and they are placed perfectly to use the brilliant MTB trails at Mabie.

I have stayed in this hotel on four seperate occassions. I adore staying here. I got an upgrade to the honeymoon suite because it was quiet at one point, its really beautiful. The staff are brilliant and cant do enough for you.The food is also very good.Plenty of nice walks around the tranquil grounds. Their is no dissapointments here.

Room Tip: All rooms are good but my favourite is the honeymoon sweet or the penthouse. Will add pictures later. Sharon.x

Here for a wedding asked for a change for my meal as I could not eat what everyone else was eating and nicky the owner wanted extra money for it, her manners are terrible most hotels go out of there way to be friendly and helpful but it would seam that this woman wants your money but can't be bothered making the effort for it! If you stay here watch out owners like to over charge and add things onto your bill that you have never had!!!

We had a one night stay in a pod at Mabie House Hotel and the kids absolutely loved it. It was a good experience for them and they're already asking when they can go back. All the staff at the hotel are lovely and very welcoming. We also dined at the hotel while we were there and the meal was excellent. Overall I was impressed with the venue and the facilities nearby such as the play park for the kids. We all enjoyed ourselves and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the accommodation to friends and family.
