“Brilliant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

I stopped by on Wednesday of Gala Week to try the special ribs with my partner, who had the Merrick burger (and doubled up!)

The food was fabulous - generous portions and high quality ingredients. The ribs were especially delicious and must become a regular on the menu!

All staff were attentive and friendly. Our waitress, Rebecca, and chef Matt were especially delightful. Will definitely return next time we're in the area.

“Local Produce”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

Great cafe. Good service, good food. I had the locally smoked salmon and locally produced cream cheese on a great sandwich, followed by the famous Cream o' Galloway ice-cream. Excellent. I then bought some locally produced jams and tablet in their gift shop.

“Friday night burger night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

We have been to the Galloway lodge many times, but we noticed on our last trip to the area that they were open on a Friday night for "Galloway Burgers".
We went along , having booked in advance, and had a thoroughly excellent meal. The burgers are excellent, topped off with extremely pleasant staff.
As a family, we wouldn't hesitate to dine there again next time we are in the area.

“Brilliant burgers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

This experience is a new take on burgers. The home-made burgers are served in a cheeky, original way, with a range of sides available. The quality of food is very good and the atmosphere is cheerful and relaxing. While there is the feeling of being in a day-time cafe that's opened at night, the whole experience makes for a good night out. The background music is also VG! Compliments to the iPod owner! The service is efficient and friendly and there is no doubt that the burger night is excellent value for money. A superb addition to Gatehouse's already excellent range of hostelries.

“Well worth a visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014 via mobile

Had lunch here with some friends, was excellent. Very well presented and staff are brilliant.
They have now opened a pop up burger restaurant on a Friday night which is amazing! I celebrated my birthday there with a few friends and we had a great night. Food, atmosphere and staff are all brilliant and excellent prices.
Will be going back both through the day and at night.
PS bramble jelly is to die for!!
