The museum has a mix of items relating to the town and the area. I especially liked the weapons and tools and video of the local area and my wife enjoyed the rocks and fossils. Pop in for a quick look round when you arrive in Kirkcudbright and then go back later to see the items you prefer.

“Fabulous Little Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014

Situated in the heart of Kirkcudbright, though small, the museum is packed full of varied and interesting things to see. Definitely well worth a visit and would interest both children and adults alike.

“Dropped in on a cold afternoon”

This is a free museum. Its not a huge museum but they've packed a whole load in. They were fine with us bringing in our pram - little one was asleep - we managed to get round no problem.

“lack luster”

A small rather old fashioned museum with an attendant who may not have been making the best of this place.

“Interesting collection. Free entry.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

The Stewartry museum is well worth a look, especially on a rainy day. Spent an hour looking at the miscellany of objects and ephemera. It's free, but give them a donation, I'm sure it would be well spent.
