“The House with the View”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

We spent 4 nights in june in this Guest House . And the word guest is here on the right place.
Jackie is the right host on the right place , very social , friendly and helpfull , that applies
also for the other staff members.
The rooms are of a high standard , two of them have more than excellent views.
If the weather allows it you can sit outside on the terrace , sipping a glass of wine
and overloking the river Dee.
The breakfast is a small party.
If you want to stay in a high standard , excellent located and friendly guest house,
this is the place to be.

I took my mother to the Fludha Guest House in Kirkcudbright for a two night stay in May 2014. Everything about it was excellent: the service; the location and the facilities all lovely and to a very high standard. Jackie is a friendly and efficient host and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was good too. The only thing that might have improved things for me would have been an email confirming our booking as I was stressing that it might all fall through at the last minute - I needn't have worried all was fine. Thanks for a lovely stay and we hope to be back in the future.

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent and the ground floor room has handles in the bathroom for people who hav...

Just spent a couple of nights at the Fludha. Jackie was extremely welcoming and helpful. The rooms were to a high standard with plenty of tea, coffee etc in the room. The Breakfasts were excellent and a good varied choice. Jackie pointed us to an exceptional place to get an evening meal ( Thursday tappas night) which I have to say would beat any food here in Cheshire. We will be returning later this year for definate. Thanks Jackie.

Room Tip: Room 5 what a view even at 3 in the morning

Just returned from 2 night stay in Fludha. A great welcome from Jackie. We stayed in room 4 which was large, bright and comfortable. Great breakfast, especially the bacon and eggs. Lovely walk along the Dee into town centre.

We (two Germans) have just returned from a four night break at Fludha, it was a wonderful stay! Kircudbright is a nice little town in the south west of scotland (dumfries and galloway), and fludha was / is one of the best B&B we ever stayed in during our golfing breaks over the last years in scotland.
Jackie made us a warm welcome, she gave a quality high standard service and a great breakfast,
specially we love the frish fruit salad! Our room had a great view over the river and town with two comfortable seats at the window. We woud definitely stay again.

We stayed here for two nights, Sunday and Monday. First impressions were very positive. We were greeted warmly and shown our room which was perfect in every way. We walked into the town and ate at a local pub restaurant which was so good we returned the next night. Breakfast at Fludha was probably the best breakfast I have eaten at a guest house/hotel. All produce was of a high quality and perfectly cooked. All in all a very relaxing stay and we will definitely return. Thank you Jackie for a great stay.
