Booked the hotel as a stop off on the way north and we enjoyed the stay. room had standard facilities, but was only 3 steps up from the main hall which is a change!! Helpful team at reception and generally very comfortable. Great location in the town centre and only about 1 mile from the motorway.

Room Tip: rooms at the back look out over the back yard, but beyond that to countryside (and are probably quieter.

This is surely the best 'dog friendly' hotel in the UK. Large dog friendly rooms opening onto a patio area. Take your dog into the bar when you have dinner and into the foyer/lounge while you have breakfast. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable; food is excellent including breakfast.

A work stay at the Annandale Arms was a real pleasure - friendly, welcoming staff, clean bright room and good food (bar menu - they do have a restaurant). Honest, well cooked food with plenty of local/regional suppliers used.
Ask for room 201 - farthest from reception but lovely airy room with view over the town roofs to the surrounding hills.

Room Tip: 201 - comfort, large bathroom and view.

Had a very enjoyable 2 night stay. Room was spacious as was the bathroom. Décor modern and looked to have been fairly recently refurbished. Public areas, corridors and staircases clean and well decorated. Food was excellent - breakfasts had plenty of choice, all served to your table. Ate at the hotel both evenings, again food was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Probably not the cheapest place to stay in Moffat - there is a lot of choice for a small town, but as they say you get what you pay for! If back in the area would return.

We stayed overnight on our way to Arbroath. We booked a dog friendly room as we had our pup with us. The room opened onto the car park and there was a fenced off area to exercise the dog but we did find a walk by the river. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and very quiet.
The staff are young, friendly and hardworking.
The hotel is ideally situated only a couple of minutes off the M74.
