2nd time staying at this hotel. Great hotel, good value for money, central location for shopping etc and very very helpful reception staff. Close to bus station and many rooms overlooking the Tay Bridge. Would highly recommend

We have just come home after our sons Graduation.

As members of IHG we had emailed previously to request extra pillows, a quiet corner room for a bit of extra peace & space. We had an email back from Jim confirming all request had been attired to. Unfortunately on arrival the corner room 436 which wasn’t a corner room, we had the smallest room on the forth floor? It was also not quiet it was right beside outside extractor fans which were on the go most of the day and night? Also no extra pillows provided, disappointing really. The parking is £12 per day and you have to pay every time you take your car out during the day.

On the plus side though the location of the hotel is great, right beside shops & restaurants. The breakfast is good lots of choice, the free tea and coffee at the lifts is a nice touch also. Rooms are good as are the beds.

All in all it lacks the personal touch but great location and good amenities.

We stayed at four HGEs during our time in the UK (Sterling, Iverness, Belfast) and this one, while probably the newest, was the least satisfactory. When my mother requested an extra luggage rack she was told that because HGEs are budget hotels, extra luggage racks cannot be provided. Every other HGE we stayed at gladly provided an extra luggage rack for the room.
Also, the entrance can be a little tricky to find. The door is on the corner of the street, tucked behind a small partion. You almost can’t see the door unless you are staring right at it. The loading zone is on the corner as well. Simply go up an elevator to the second level to access the lobby. Good pay parking is available in the garage behind the hotel and a bridge connects the garage with the lobby of the hotel.

Hi Whit M,

I'm glad you choose our hotel for your visit to Holiday Inn Express Dundee.

We promise to deliver superior value through our brilliant basics but I'm sorry that your visit was not up to standards. I see that you have concerns about the lack of extra luggage racks and that our entrance-way is tricky to find. I understand how it made your check-in a bit of a hassle. Rest assured that I made our management aware of these for us to improve our service.

On the bright side, it's great to know that you find our parking accessible to your needs.

We appreciate you leaving feedback about your stay, and looking forward to your next stay.

All the best,

Rein D

We found this city centre chain ideally located so you can immediately walk to many restaurants and museums such as the V&A. Close to train and bus centres but if you are driving they have a passage into the gellaty street car park. Very clean rooms very friendly staff bar until 1am but quiet. Downstairs you have so many outlets for food and shopping centres are walking distance a waterstone's is 30 yards away etc. Breakfast was decent hot bacon sausage beans n scrambled egg. Stairwell and fover overlook the Tay. All in all ideal place to stay for Dundee city centre no diubt will be back

This Holiday Inn is extremely well situated for shopping and eating in Dundee. It has a car park attached to the hotel. The rooms were nicely appointed. We had the breakfast buffet in the hotel which also was very good. Would certainly use this hotel again.
