This is a quirky and fun sculpture of a man trying to lead a dog.
The sculpture is a major photo-op place in the city center.

Dundee city centre and waterfront are packed with shops and food vendors. The V&A is on the waterfront and is free to walk around. The architecture is unique and fascinating. The V&A team can explain with props the construction of the building. Each floor tile contains a fossil. There is just one exhibit that requires a cost.
The McManus Museum and Art gallery is worth a visit and should take a few hours to get round all the exhibits. On the ground floor is a history of Dundee, a natural history section and a cafe. Upstairs is the art gallery with some amazing works of art. North of the city is Glamis castle which again is well worth the trip. the tour guides are excellent and the history memorable. Princess Margaret was born there. The grounds are extensive with an Italian walled garden and sculptures inspired by Shakespeare's Macbeth. Over the water to the south is St Andrews and Kingsbarns. The Darnley's Gin Distillery is great value and St Andrew's city centre is well stocked with a variety of shops and eating places.

Desperate Dan was the main character of the Dandy comic and was usually on the front cover of the weekly from Dundee publishers D C Thomson. My mum bought me both The Dandy and the Beano and usually got the Annuals for a Christmas present. Great to see one of my favourite childhood characters memorialised in this great statue !!
