“Was fun”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014 via mobile

The toddlers pool was very crowded and my wee one likes to have her own space. My older kids loved the waves and the water slides different themes for each slide.

“A great splash”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014 via mobile

The Olympia centre is great fun. There is food upstairs for the kids and parents great price too, £13 for two burgers chips and cokes and one soup. The water slides (four of them), busy I admit, but all the same brilliant fun. There are also three diving boards but only one of them was open. There is a wave pool that goes every half hour. Nearby is a lazy river and in the middle there is a jacuzzi. There is a mini water park for toddlers and its way warmer than all the other pools! At the other side there is a 50 metre swimming pool. Great family day out for everyone, reasonably priced at £15 for a family of 4.

“excellent leisure pool”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

Fantastic facility which is easily accessible by car and public transport. There is lots of parking right next door. The changing rooms were clean and spacious. The pool has a big leisure pool with a wave machine. The waves are effective and last a long time. There is a shallow beach end for non-swimmers to sit and enjoy the waves too. Just off the leisure pool there is a circuit of rapids which is great fun. There are 4 flumes which vary in speed and are all great fun. You can personalise your ride with music and sounds. On two of them children can ride with an adult so no-one misses out. There is also a separate toddler pool, a diving pool, and a pool for lane swimming. In between the diving pool and the lane pool there is another section with an adjustable floor for classes. Upstairs there is a good cafe. This is a great place to go for a family treat. The only diffiulty is it can be difficult keeping an eye on children when it gets really busy. Also young children move much faster than adults in the rapids so unless you keep hold of them the current takes them off.

“ok, could be alot better”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

i visited here with my husband and sister-in-law as we wanted to try it out after hearing mixed-reviews. firstly, I was surprised at how expensive it is for 2 adults for an hour, just under £8.00! (and that's not including the £3.00 minimum parking charge in the car-park). we then proceeded to enter the changing rooms, and went straight away to some lockers - no one was on the little desk there, and there are no notices telling you what to do, so after we had changed and filled a locker a woman came up to us and told us to move lockers as we were in the wrong ones, but the way she spoke to us wasn't great. we then went into the pool, which is ok, the lanes are fine, the todler pool seems ok (although we didnt use it) and the main non-lane pool was a bit dissapointing, it seems alot smaller than the previous olympia. the flumes are good for some people, but i wasnt informed than some parts are in darkness and can be dissorientating and didnt enjoy my experience on them at all - i felt as though i was going to have a panic attack.

so all in all, it was a bit of a dissapointment, some staff were rude and rather expensive.

“Great for families although hard to find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

Having visited the old Olympia several times we were looking forward to seeing what the new one had to offer. Firstly we struggled to find it as it's not signposted at all. Had to eventually stop and use Sat Nav - we were close but all you see is a multi storey car park which makes you think you're in the wrong place.

When you arrive there are big viewing windows giving you a good idea of what it's like. Reception staff friendly and we were shown to a family changing room when we entered the changing area - the lady even mopped the floor for us. Very impressed. Big lockers too which hold plenty of bags.

You are directed through the shower area so no excuse not to shower before entering the pool. Yes, the pools are smaller than the old pool but it's a family pool and if you want a proper swim, you wouldn't come with young children. What I liked was that the toddler pool was next to the main fun pool so I could watch the rest of the family in the other pool whilst keeping the baby in the small pool.

My older son used the flukes which he enjoyed. Tip - when the waves come on the fumes are quiet so if you want to avoid the queues use the founds when waves are on.

Whole place spotlessly clean despite it being a busy Saturday.

We also used the cafe which was lovely with good food and reasonable prices.
