Dundee, East End of the Perth Road. You are in a great spot. University buildings a brisk lope over thataway, independent shops and intriguing outlets for all manner of things thisaway. Any day, whatever the weather, stop at number 302. It is a Coffee House. Small, friendly, darkly inviting. Comfortable leather sofas to slouch, read All the local and national papers you desire, whilst drinking the coffee, eating the cakes/bakes/soup and sandwich lunch/elevenses/ afternoon tea. C'mon in, as the Beverley Hillbillies used to say "set a while". However, this is not a Blue Ridge gentle backwater. It buzzes with the sound of activity at the counter, it hums with the delicious aromas of coffee/teas/soups. Order at the back, perch at a table or slouch in the window seat sofa. Scamper briskly through your order, which arrives - pronto! or...my personal preference, kick back, savour the flavour of the experience and people-watch. The staff keep the wheels of food and drink turning, there is craic to be had, time allowing, the rest-room is always clean and airy. It is somewhere between a sanctuary for the busy academic, en route to lecture or seminar, yummy-mummy buggy and passenger pause-place and coffee stop for the on foot shoppers who have chanced upon this haven that is Perth Road in our increasing frantic and Big multi Retail Outlets driven world. I. Like. Shops. Wee ones, inspired and Independent ones.....and when you pass and stop, here is EspressOh! Life may well be too short for many things, but mine is diminished if I do not get my weekly or monthly mindfulness coffee (plus or minus edible Something) EspressOh! appointment. Go on.....pencil it in, iPhone it. Please do..... :)
