First of all, I have to say that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. But I do wish I had looked at this Hotel on the Google Satellite system. I had booked two rooms, 1 double and 1 single. The single room was on the road side of the Hotel, it was a very hot room and I needed the windows open. The traffic was constant until 2am and started back up at 5am. The double room where my daughters were, overlooked the railway line, and every train (and there were many and late at night) tooted as they went past. So none of us had much sleep - pity really

Room Tip: Not sure what to say here as Hotel is on a crossroads with a railway line at rear

Dear Marion W,
As you have said yourself, pity you hadn't booked a room at a hotel in the wilderness. The trains are not allowed to toot their horns after 11pm, then there are two trains running until midnight, after that the first train is at 0615. Unfortunately this is the hottest Summer we have had in forty years, so naturally you open the window then you can hear everything out there ! Perhaps you should have requested a fan then you could have kept the windows shut and got plenty of shut eye. Like every other town, there are very few vehicles passing the door during the night, after all, the hotel is not situated on a trunk road. I do realise that you will not be returning to our hotel, however if you are ever seeking accommodation in this area, give me a ring, I know a couple of good monastries where things are pretty quiet.
Kind regards,
Jeff

Stayed for two nights, 2 adults and 1 teenager in a family room. The room was good with a proper single bed not a put me up for the third occupant. A lovely clean en-suite shower room attached to a good sized room with plenty of storage space. Nice to find a swimming pool in a hotel of this size and more surprising to find no-one else in it! The breakfast was excellent and evening food met with approval also. In all a cracking little hotel and a great lucky find.
Criticisms? A new shower head would have made the most of a nice big shower cubicle; the windows could have opened a bit wider, I know they don't want people falling out if them and it wouldn't normally be a problem but the weather was HOT and the room consequently was a bit stuffy at night....

We spent one week at the hotel and truly felt like we were part of the family by the end of our visit. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always available to assist with the smallest (or largest) request. The facilities were perfectly located for golfing and sight seeing excursions as well as close enough to the waterfront for evening walks to and from dinner. The dining options at the hotel were always well cooked and provided plenty of options. The gym facilities and pool were an unexpected bonus - we will definitely stay here again!

We spent 4 nights at this lovely, family run hotel to meet up with other friends and act as a base. The staff we so accomodating and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed using the facilities there too (gym and pool) which is a real 'find' in the area. Nothing was too much trouble, a genuine wish to assist was present in all staff. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

Stayed here overnight a couple of weeks ago and were very comfortable. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished. Staff were outstanding. When they noticed my husband had mobility problems, they said they would set up a table for us in the conservatory area for breakfast to save him struggling with stairs. This was very considerate and helpful. Only slight problem was we would have preferred a room with a walk-in shower, again because of my husband's mobility problems. We hadn't stipulated this when we booked so it was an omission on our part and not hotel's fault. Would definitely stay here again.
