Owner description: Dean Castle Country Park is an excellent free day out for all the family. The Country Park boasts a 14th century castle and beautiful woodland walks. The Country Park has almost completed a project to upgrade its rural life centre, play park and visitor centre; these will reopen in autumn 2017. Restoration works to the Castle will begin in January 2018. Please note that at the moment only the castle courtyard and Medieval Kitchen are open to the public. Join us for our spectacular light show, Illuminight, running until 19th November.

We loved the Dean Castle as we have heritage that dates back to the Boyd family. The grounds were beautiful and tour of the castle was very professional and knowledgeable. We were disappointed the keep was not open, due to falling rocks. Maybe we can see next time we visit.

I have visited Dean castle and country park on a Friday morning. I was very disappointed that the castle was closed. Yet I could enjoy long walks in the country park. It was a bright sunny day but not very hot which made my visit enjoyable. Loved to see the animals are well kept.

The cafeteria has reasonable prices and the food was good. I would love to have another opportunity to visit the castle someday.

Thank Chris A

We had a lovely visit, there were five of us including two year old grandaughter. The sun was shining so we went to the visitors for ice cream.. We had Irn Bru ice cream,we all had ice cream and the bill was just under £6 which I didnt think was too bad.
They also had a lovely shop, bought wee one a large ball, very reasonable price, would recommend visitors centre.
Park lovely, small animal zoo, rabbits, pigs guinea pigs, lamas, goats, birds etc., wee one loved it.
Lovely big picnic area and play parks, different ones for different ages.
On the whole great day out, and free, great for families, also all areas disabled friendly.
