Great Hotel used for overnight working away from home. Very friendly, very clean and comfortable. Nice bar area and food served with a discount for guests. Would use again most definitely. Great nights sleep.

Each day. the West End has sth new to offer...Live Band, Quiz night etc. It was a lovely stay. The centre is almost possible to walk to.
There was not a lot of choice for breakfast though.
In any case, it was more than worth its money.

Room Tip: I slept in a 12or 10 dorm I believe, which I shared with six other girls. The rooms were tidy with a...

Fanstatic staff, clean rooms and great facilities. Staff are friendly and the food is excellent. What a hostel! We were there for a Stag and it was perfect and about a 20min walk from the Royal mile. If you're on a budget, this is the place to stay. I will definitely stay again!

The only thing I would say is that there is a lack of toilets and the showers are hit and miss heat-wise. But apart from that it is second to none for value for money.

I stayed here for a weekend recently for my stag weekend, there was 9 of us and we stayed in a 12 bed dorm room. The room was very clean, spacious and tidy, comfortable bunk beds and the room was always warm. With high vaulted ceilings, ornate cornicing and a great chandelier, we were all very pleased.

The hotel is only a 15 minute walk from Princes Street and taxis are very reasonable to the city. The bus stop was a very close walk as well which was good for journeys to and from the airport.

The staff we met were Cheryl, Juan and Alyce who were great and were very friendly and helpful from the beginning of our stay to the end. The food was great and very reasonably priced and not one bad meal, we mostly ate in the hotel as there was 20% of all food and drink if you were a resident.

We had to share a bathroom with other guests, which was fine, we were aware of this. The bathroom was always clean, the water was always warm in the showers and there was even shower gel in the showers which was helpful. The only thing that stood out was that there was only 1 toilet cubicle in the bathroom but this was probably to the space available. But there was 3 showers and plenty of mirrors and worktop space.

Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. Though with no lift in the building I can imagine that climbing the stairs every day to and from your room would be quite the challenge, especially if you had knee or back problems but as our dorm was on the first floor we didn't mind that much.

Overall I was very happy with the hotel. Great service, food and value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling to Edinburgh for a break.

Room Tip: Ask which floor your room is on as there could be quite a few stair to climb.

The hotel is good, staff was really helpful and friendly. It is located in the West part of Edinburgh, but about 10/15 minutes to the City Centre. Good cost benefit. But next time, I will prefer to stay close to the City Centre. Edinburgh is beautiful!!!!!!!

just had my sisters hen wkend in Edinburgh. we stayed here for 1 night. staff very friendly-colin, manager, was very accommodating, we got early check in and late check out, great for us as a large group (17). rooms were clean and warm, plenty of space. only comment is hadn't realised we shared bathrooms with others so could be crowded and not 'tidy', but we managed. bar facilities were fab, 20% off food and drink if guest in hotel. service was quick and food was lovely- no complaints there. as a group we were respectful of others and we weren't disturbed by any noise from others-prob down to big thick walls of old building :-) breakfast was again quick service plenty of choice for money. i would def recommend for groups, great value for money.

Just got back from having a night stay at the hotel for my friends hen do, I've been reading some of the peoples reviews & I think some people just like to be picky, all staff was very helpful, beds very comfy (did squeak abit but can't be helped) bedroom & bathroom very warm, the only thing which I didn't like was that there was only one toilet but 3 showers (upstairs) but we all survived, food was lovely good platefuls too may I add you get 20% off for being a guest which is fab, would defo stay there again.
