I've visited Edinburgh twice. The first time I thought the city was beautiful but full of hidden passages. The second time I resolved to take a walking tour to explore those passages. This tour was a good survey of all the elements of Scottish architecture and the significant buildings explaining the story and history of the city. It was a lot of walking, but it is a walking tour just be aware. I felt like I learned on this tour and understood the layout of the city better. Do this earlier in your trip and it will help you get around for the rest of your stay.
