If you are looking for a good night out and like live comedy then this is the place to go. The Friday night show we saw had four acts plus the compare/MC, show started at about 8.30 and think we left at about 11 ish, all for £12.
It's not a massive venue which I think probably helps it work so well, drink prices are not over the top, pretty much the same as the bars in the area.

When I'm back in Edinburgh I will be returning........

We visited here last Friday night, and had a brilliant time. The compere was great, very relaxed and good at chatting to the audience. The four comedians (2 male, 2 female) were all very very funny too. I think for £12, you really do get your money's worth! It's only a small place but it gives it a really intimate feel, and means the queue for the bar is always short! Would definitely recommend to (not easily offended) comedy fans!

We love stand-up comedy, and this place did not disappoint. The host the night we went (Friday night) was the one pictured on this page. He was super nice and enjoyed really talking to the people in the audience. As the only Americans, we were definitely made-fun of, but never in a mean, nasty way (not that we'd mind). All the comics there were great and just seemed to really be having a lot of fun.

Unlike stand-up in NYC, which we've been to 30+ times, the Friday night show is not a quick wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am experience that shows in NYC might feel like. It was the only show of the night, so from start to finish, we were there for about 2.5 hours. They had a few comics, then a break, then a couple more, and another break, and then the final comic.

The surroundings aren't fancy (most chairs are folding chairs), but it doesn't matter - definitely one of the highlights of our trip!!

Note: Doors opened at 7 for the 8:30 show.. we got there at 7 and nobody was there. We went back at 7:30 and 1 other couple was there, so no need to rush for fear of getting a bad seat.

First found this little gem by accident in May after being flyered in the High Street. Not knowing what to expect I was welcomed shown to a good seat and chatted to at the bar by the owner and staff even though the club was full. They made me feel a special guest and I wasn't the only one. All seats special.

On every night as an alternative to the Stand this little gem never fails to delight. Spotlessly clean and well run the compere Rick Molland who effortlessly controls any potential hecklers from the frequent stag and hen do goers but as a single traveller you never feel left out or intimidated by being in the front row,
With good reasonably priced grub and excellent friendly staff the comedians are approachable after their act and at £5 for a 4 comedian gig on Thursdays or £12 for a full night on a Friday (with concessions and freebies other nights of the week) I can highly recommend this newbie venue.
Run by 4 practising comedians who know their stuff and book the finest the vibrant atmosphere and award winning club is THE place to spend your weekends indeed any day you need a perk me up.
I LOVE this place. Go when visiting Edinburgh. Go to visit it specially. 10 stars from me......and a good night from them.

Absolute fantastic night and great acts throughout! Most of the act we're trying out new material before the Fringe festival and most were brilliant! Highly recommend
