Wallace: an attentive, humorous , knowledgeable host, easy to talk to, easy to be friends with, generous of heart and hearth
The Arthouse: clean, clean, clean, white white whith with interesting and amusing art throughout and an Italian bed that was truly heavenly
The neighborhood: the Arthouse is in Leith by the harbor a straight shot from city center on one bus. Leith neighborhood is great fun to walk around and home to a fabulous fish restaurant called the Fish House. I enjoyed staying in this historic town now Edinburgh neighborhood on the outskirts of the bustle of the center.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

Originally coming from Edinburgh, I'd heard about Wallace's Arthouse but had never stayed. We stayed for two nights and my only regret is we couldn't stay longer - but we'll be back! Beautiful, comfortable, quirky and stylish apartment. Spotless throughout with very comfortable beds. Wallace had the prosecco out within minutes and we were chilling and laughing in the lounge like old pals. He recommended some great restaurants and if you weren't familiar with the area he would make sure you would soon know your way around. He prepared a fabulous breakfast and throughout our stay added lovely little touches. He's a wonderful story teller and listener - and he has a wicked sense of humour. Wallace's charm and love for what he does is evident - he is without doubt the star of the show!

We have just returned from a brilliant weekend in Edinburgh, having visited to watch the Six Nations rugby at Murrayfield. On planning our trip we scrolled through countless Hotels and B&Bs but none of them appeared to have much charisma or charm. That is until we stumbled upon Wallace's Arthouse, Leith. The promise of an eccentric host and a homely welcome did not disappoint, as we were welcomed onto the threshold as if old friends. Not ten minutes passed, before we were sipping prosecco on settees in front of the fire and gossiping about travel. Leith itself is a wonderful district with great seafood restaurants dotted along the shore of the Firth of Forth. The room was beautifully decorated with quirky pieces here and there. Wonderfully comfy bed and powerful shower. Breakfast put us on for the rugby, with lovely pastries, breads, fruits and good espresso (very welcome on the Sunday morning following a good sesh the day before). Wonderful Wallace also left some cute little cupcakes in our room... Charming. All in all a wonderful stay, highly recommended, and I would definitely visit again
Thankyou for having us

We stayed here for three nights at the end of January and we are so glad that we decided to stay here: we definitely made the right choice.

The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and so comfortable - light and airy, with some lovely decorative touches and objects on display - and Wallace himself is a delightful and engaging host, with a wicked sense of humour. He was always available whenever we needed him (to help with choosing and booking restaurants, recommending activities and attractions, etc.) but is happy to leave you to your own devices should you wish. The Arthouse is only a short walk from The Shore, where you will find a huge choice of excellent pubs, bars and restaurants and is also close to direct public transport routes into the centre of Edinburgh, making it so easy to get around.

As Wallace says, he wants you to feel as though this is your second home and he certainly succeeded in making us feel thoroughly welcome from the second we arrived. (And thank you again, Wallace, for my birthday cake!)

(Having said all of this, I've just realised that with all of these positive reviews we might struggle to book with him again in the high season - can I change my review, please?!)

We stayed here in August, it is such a wonderful and quirky little B&B! The rooms are beautiful and sooo stylishly decorated. Wallace is such a wonderful host - he really goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. This B&B is a little gem and if I ever go back to Edinburgh I would definitely return!

We chose to stay at Wallaces over new year for Hogmanay and are so so glad we did!! From the moment we stepped though the door to the moment we left we were treated like old friends by the lovely Wallace. The guesthouse itself is beautifully decorated with lots of character giving it a cosy warm feel, and is situated in the heart of Leith within walking distance to many great pubs and restaurants. We cannot recommend the fabulous Wallace and his guesthouse highly enough, a definite must if you are planning to spend any time in Edinburgh!!

The place which is decorated with a perfect taste and style, spotlessly clean, spacious and airy is just a tiny 1% of your unforgettable experience with Wallace Art House. The host is the man that makes it truly unique experience when visiting Edinburg. Very nice afternoon wine and cheese in a cosy room was an unexpected pleasant gift from Wallace and this was accompanied by a very interesting conversation by all sorts of things in the world, we could discuss everything with Our host starting from just a weather in Scotland and ending by Russian culture and theatre. You would most likely skip some of the city sights to spend more time heaving breakfast with this charming old lad.
