I took the audio tour right when the palace opened at 9AM which was a perfect time to arrive due to low crowds. Loved exploring all the rooms and learning more about Royal history. Very interesting to see Mary Queen of Scots' bedroom and even a lock of her hair. An employee at the palace even pointed out where the Queen resides. The abbey attached is in ruins but still something to see as well as the gardens. I also enjoyed the giftshop with lots of beautiful souvenirs. A must do!

Booked this penthouse apartment for 4 of us and was a good price.

The apartment is slightly out of town (near the Scottish Parliament building) but is only a 10 minute walk to the royal mile
The apartment was cosy and warm and kitted our with everything you could need for your stay. The view wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible, you can’t have everything though

It was quite interesting to visit the palace and the free audio guide is very informative. You can also use your ticket to visit multiple times for a year.
We visited in December and the rooms were beautifully decorated

We visited holyrood palace in December and e pleased with the Christmas decorations all around the house. The personal tape to tell you about the house is a must as there are no plaques inside the palace to tell you about it.
When you exit you can fill in a card so if you visit again within 1 year then admission is free.
