I always aim to stay here when I visit Edinburgh on business. This hotel is consistently good and the rooms are always clean and tidy. It's the little touches which really set it apart from the other hotels I can choose from; the tea and coffee making facilities, water in the fridge, easy internet access and the buscuits.
I really eat in the restuarant but the room service is alway tasty and well presented. The bar is a little pricey too. But this is a minor issues as Edinburgh has plenty bars and eateries. It's a quiet hotel too.

Room Tip: Choose one the rooms on the higher floors as these are quietest.

Wife an I stayed for two nights whilst attending a wedding. The place is excellent, the staff are extremely polite and helpful and the hotel is one of the cleanest we've ever stayed in. Only downside - and a fairly minor one at that - was the price of the breakfast. -£15 for a 'full scottish' Whilst it was very pleasant, it wasn't worth £15.

Room Tip: No tips - all the rooms are good.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the hotel for two nights and absolutely loved the hotel. It was very clean, modern and tastefully decorated.

The hotel was extremely accommodating and after arriving on an early morning flight, we decided to drop by the hotel to leave our luggage as it was only 8.50am. When speaking with reception, they offered to immediately check us in as our room was available. Needless to say we were delighted with the very early check-in and very friendly reception staff.

We stayed in room 1018 which was very clean and comfortable and had everything you could want. It was a twin room as opposed to a double/king size bed and this would be the only thing I could say that I could fault. However, had we asked at reception to change rooms, we possibly could have done this, but didn’t as it didn’t bother us too much and you couldn’t fault them when we were able to check in so early.

The breakfast was very tasty and fresh with a good selection. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant as we were wanting to explore the surrounding arrears, but the hotel was very relaxing and comfortable to eat in.

We went down to the spa area and enjoyed some time in the swimming pool and steam room. It was a lovely space to spend some time. We didn’t realise you would need £1 coin (which was refundable) for the lockers in the spa area as we had left all our belongings in the room. It was a little disappointing to find this out when we were down there, however we did leave our stuff in lockers but just not locked and it was fine. It would have been nice had they just been electronic lockers so you wouldn’t need to keep a key safe etc.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again as it was in a great location and close to the Burns Monument, Hollyrood Palace and also the Playhouse. There are a good selection of restaurants near the Playhouse theatre which are within a 5-7 min walk from the hotel .

Thanks for a lovely stay and will definitely check out some of the other Apex hotels.

Stayed for one night with friends, could check in early as room was ready, it was minutes from the station which was a bonus. Situated round the corner from St James shopping centre and a short walk to princes street, George street and the Omni centre. Rooms stylish and beds very comfy.

The breakfast was offered at a cheaper rate if you purchased the day before, they were happy for us to go and look in the restaurant before we decided. So pleased we did as it was £10 and excellent value for money. After breakfast when we had time to kill they let us take coffees and pastries through to the bar area to enjoy. At night time we used the bar facilities and it was very busy so service was a little slow, however baileys coffees were delicious. Swimming pool a little cold but there was a sauna and steam room, clean towels to be used too. Would have been nice to have had robes provided. A fantastic stay would highly recommend !

The hotel is just at the end of Princes Street and an very short walk to the Royal Mile. Princes Street Gardens, Leith, museums and art galleries are all a short walk away. There are also many shops close by.
The hotel itself is very modern and comfortable inside with a gym, pool, sauna and steam room. The latter two are great to relax after a day sightseeing. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area if you want some advice.
The bar and restaurant are both good with a wide range of food and drink. It is a little expensive but it is right in the centre of a capitol city.

Room Tip: I would suggest not selecting level 3 as this is where the pool is so there is a strong smell of chl...

Stayed at the Apex, Waterloo Place when we went to the theatre Jan 2014. Easy check in, the room was spacious with everything you require, tea/coffee, safe, hair dryer, information. The bathroom was great with a bath and walk in shower. Very clean and great value. The bar was well stocked and the breakfast was superb, great choice. Will use Apex hotels again.

Had a lovely weekend. Staff helpful from the outset we arrived super early and rooms understandably not available . We checked in though and hotel sent us a text message a short while later to say room was ready . We arrived to our bags already in our room ,nice touch. We had a room in eighth floor which was good size, little noise in room unlike some comments, good size ,nice amenities walk in shower and deep bath.
Spa area nice not huge and misses a jacuzzi, pool jets not quite the same !jacuzzi should be hot not pool temp. Steam and sauna good plenty clean towels and very clean and I went everyday at different times. Small g but all you need. Both concierges were very helpful excellent local knowledge given by both and the lady concierge was very very helpful and gave us some good recommendations of places to go. Would def stay again good choice of real ale in bar and we ate bar snacks and lunch that was also good. Location excellent less 5 min to station and princess street .
