“Great location, lovely hotel”
Reviewed 2 March 2014 via mobile

Stayed for 2 nights with colleagues on Business. Managed to get a deal of £98 per night which was only £25 per night from the Travel Lodge next door, you could not have 2 more different hotel experiences!

Staff very friendly, helpful and just very professional. The hotel was immaculate and in top order. The rooms were great with the ensuite having desperate double end bath and large walk in shower.

Colleagues used the gym which was described as small but no problem.

Greatest thing for me was proximity to centre within a couple of minutes of Princess Street and 10 minutes to the Castle if that. I walked out for about an hour or so pre dinner and walked to the castle, down the whole length of the Royal Mile to Holyrood Palace and back to Hotel.

Also recommend Deacon Brodie's Pub on royal Mile (Castle end) for great Beer and Michael Neaves kitchen and whisky bar for amazing food, just off Royal Mile.

Will return to Apex Waterloo with family, no need to look anywhere else, just a matter of price as I won't get the corporate discount!

I stayed three nights in the standard double which was more than comfortable. Rooms are spacious, tidy and quiet. The location couldn't be better - it's just a few minutes walk from Waverley station and mostly everything is within walking distance.
It's also one of those few hotels where the free wifi in the rooms is both free and fast.
If you don't include breakfast, there's a nice cafe called Pep&Fodder right outside.

Would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed at the Apex Waterloo Place for the fourth time in recent years. The hotel never fails to impress with helpful staff and a high standard of service. Its location at the far end of Princess St makes it ideal for the tourist as most of the great sites in Edinburgh are within walking distance.

The Waterloo palace is in a fab but quiet location in Edinburgh with a couple of minutes walk into the centre and all it has to offer. The hotel is modern and immaculately clean. Our room was not what had been described to us and staff were extremely helpful with arranging a different room for us and were apologetic about the situation. The room we stayed in was at the front of the hotel, it was spacious with excellent facilities and a lovely bathroom. It was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was great with a really nice choice of hot and continental and staff were welcoming and courteous. The customer service in the hotel was efficient and friendly without being in your face which suited us more than fawning staff asking how you are all the time. We used the pool on one occasion and were impressed by the cleanliness and lighting however it is more of a spa pool than a swimming one! On the whole an excellent hotel and we would stay again and recommend

I stayed here with my sister for 2 nights. The location is great, the hotel is clean too. We stayed in a twin room which was nice but pretty small but that is what you would expect for a city hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom and toiletries were especially good too!
Breakfast, although pricey, was a lovely way to start the day.
I would stay here again, based on price, location and breakfast.
The pool looked great, although we didn't use it

I booked this hotel for my boyfriends 30th.
The location was perfect and the room was perfect, we especially loved the robes and duck!
The bed was also the comfiest bed I have ever slept in!
Great helpful staff, I would definitely stay here again when visiting Edinburgh

Me and my mother stayed here for one nights stay for some mother daughter time. We arrived an hour early for check in and it was a not a problem at all! we we're let into our clean and tidy room early. The receptionist was polite and extremely well spoke, answered all questions that we had. The room was a good size with plenty of hanging space in the large cupboards for clothing. The hotel provided; an iron board, iron, fridge, kettle, two bottles of water, biscuits, tea, coffee, hot chocolates a very large television, full length and so on. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was very spacious and clean. My nights sleep was Amazing, the bed was extremely comfortable and I didn't struggle to fall asleep. I didn't hear any noises and sleep't through the night well but my mother was woken up once for 15 minutes due to noise then feel back asleep. The hotel was modern and comfortable, in such a fantastic location walking distance to all the tourist attractions and shopping area not even a five minute walk away... close to everything! The spa I did not use but I did use the pool, steam room and sauna the pool is small but modern and mature for a relaxing short swim (chairs/loungers and water machine provided) steam room and sauna are small but relaxing. I didn't use the gym but had a little look in small but has what you would need! All new and well functioning machines. We did not make us of the restaurant as there is so many other places to eat within Edinburgh! But it was busy with lots of happy looking faces. I would say at the bar we got a drink each and did find it to be a little steep but the red wine was absolute Devine!!

Thanks apex hotel we had a very comfortable stay and will be back.
