The location of this hotel is perfect for shopping or sight-seeing. The rooms are lovely and big, perfect. The hotel itself has a lot of finishing to do in the public areas, restaurant food was excellent particularly the fish dish, The gym very small and the swimming pool area again very small, dark ,and uninviting mainly because of the choice of decour

It was my girlfriends 20th birthday in May 2009 and it was made even more special by staying at the Apex at Waterloo Place. We stayed from a Friday till the Sunday. I have stayed in many fantastic hotels around the world including Hawaii, Las Vegas & LA and this hotel stands out with everyone of them. I can't say enough about the staff and their friendliness/willingness to help make your visit the best it could possibly be. The hotel has excellent decor, very warm and the rooms are extremely comfortable in all aspects. It is also situated a 1 minute walk from Princes Street (which has all the best shops on) and across the road from St James' Shopping centre. They have a gym which has all the necessities including 2 bikes, 2 running machines, free weights, cross trainer, fresh towels and I can't forget the 3 flat screen plasma TV's which were right in front of you the whole time no matter what machine you were using. Then there is the pool, sauna and steam room - exceptional - 1 word says it all.

I have nothing bad to say about my stay at all and I have no hesitation in saying that you will not be disappointed if you stay here for 1 night or 1 month and once you have stayed you will most certainly go back again.

This hotel is very new , central to everything and it is fantastic. The staff are very helpful and booked all the day trips for us. We have just arrived in Edinburgh and the room is much larger than we expected. It is clean, spacious and the bed is so comfortable. The bathroom is large and well appointed. I use the reviews on Tripadvisor all the time and have found them to be true and this was the case again. Will definitely stay here again when we come back later in the year.

I stayed at Waterloo Place at the weekend and felt I had to share my positive experience. The hotel hasn't been open long but everything rang so smoothly you'd think it had been open for years. The hotel is furnished beautifully, the rooms are modern with a flat screen TV and huge walk in shower. The beds are so comfy and the rooms contain everything I needed including ironing and tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was quick and to a high standard, there is plenty of selection for those that dont just wan't a "full Scottish Breakfast". Check out is 12.00 which gave us enough time to sleep off our hangovers, breakfast and sample the spa facilities before checking out. The staff are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will be back.

There was a large group of us stayed here last weekend. The hotel is a 2 min walk from Waverley Station and 5 mins walk to George St so you couldn't ask for a better location. We found the hotel to be contemporary, clean and very well furnished with incredibly helpful staff who looked after us so well; storing our bags (before and after our stay) and even bringing ice for G&T's to our room!

The spa was fab for relaxing in and although we didn't make it to the gym, it looked well equipped.

Our evening meal was fantastic and served in a private dining room, which made the evening even more special.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel and look forward to going back there soon.

The location (close to Waverley Station) was perfect. The bedroom was spacious and tastefully furnished with stylish furnishing. The food was very good and the staff couldn't be nicer. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here with a large group of friends (20) and can't fault this hotel. The hotel couldn't be more central, only 2 mins walk from the station, shops, cafes and bars. Check in was efficient, staff couldn't do enough for us, the rooms were fantastic and the gym and spa were a great place to chill out! We had 'private dining' for our large party and the food was delicious. I have stayed in many hotels in Edinburgh over the years, and the Apex Waterloo Place has the best of everything, at the right price! Infact, I am already planning my next trip!
