One night at this lovely place - they could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The room was warm and comfortable (huge bed) and the view over the river is great. Super breakfast too! And despite Cramond being directly under the flight path for Edinburgh this place is quiet and peaceful.

Just spent a week at the Cramond Mill B&B and, as hoped, it was therapy for the soul. The proprietor, Elaine, is one special lady. The staff are great and very good at keeping what can be a busy riverside cafe running smoothly – as well as the B&B.

Situated on the river Almond, Cramond Mill is ideal if you want to be lulled to a deep sleep. Elaine has thoughtfully added secondary glazing for anyone who might be concerned about this. It is situated on the flight path to Edinburgh airport, but the flights are infrequent – with smaller craft – and I did not find this impacted in any way to the quality of the stay.

The rooms are nice, simple and homey with oriental details – furniture, fixtures, etc. This added a quirky and interesting quality to the building.

The Cramond Mill breakfast is great – full Scottish, or a more continental type should you wish. A good thing to do is avail oneself of a full breakfast, then take a long walk up the river Almond path, on to the Dalmeny estate – all the way to the Forth Rail Bridge at South Queensferry.

There is a good bus service from Cramond to get you into the City centre or a 10-15min car drive has you in town proper. The key thing with Cramond Mill though, is the peaceful river (and sea) side location. With the local Cramond Inn tavern nearby – it's all you need to get away from the bustle. Good Karma. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: All are good, scaled for requirement.

We stayed here over the new year for 2 nights, as a family of 4. Was an absolute fantastic stay, Elaine is so welcoming and goes out of her way to make your stay is a great 1, She organised taxi's for us on new years eve, and made sure the Taxi was organised for our return. The breakfast was exceptional, and catered for us all, the kids just loved the hot chocolate she made for them. Would defiantly recommend this B&B to any of my friends, and we will be returning for another short break in the spring. Thank you very much Elaine

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cramond Mill. Elaine sent me a text to confirm our time of arrival and when we booked in we were greeted with tea and the best scones ever! My husband was torn between doing the Park run or having the full Scottish breakfast - Elaine solved his dilemma by offering him a late breakfast so he could enjoy both. We were visiting friends who live in Cramond and next time we visit we will be returning to Cramond Mill,

We have just returned from a 2 day break at this beautiful B&B and we wish that we could have stayed longer. As a family, we took all four of the bedrooms as we were attending a family Wedding and Ceilidh. I think I can speak for the whole family when I say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Elaine and Ali, who were extremely welcoming and accommodating and will stop at nothing to make your stay more comfortable. The bedrooms, each of which is beautifully furnished, have very comfortable beds and pillows and duvets are goose down. The Mill is situated beside the babbling river Almond which is an idyllic spot and great for lovely walks and a peaceful alternative to staying in the City. The full Scottish breakfast is the best I have ever tasted and I can vouch that the cakes and scones are freshly baked every day (this couple never stop!). Thanks Elaine and Ali for a wonderful stay, we will definitely return when we are next visiting Edinburgh.
