We would thoroughly recommend this very friendly guest house. The room was beautifully clean and comfortable and Ann is so welcoming and genuinely interested in her guests and their needs. The breakfast was really excellent and we were not rushed at all. The owners are passionate about good food and my gluten-free diet was not a problem to them. We were very relieved to find a room and shall return, as our son has just begun a course at Edinburgh University. Very convenient- only 10 mins drive to Pollock Halls of Residence.

Our stay here was very good, Ann was really helpful and the room was immaculate with bedding being changed every other day and towels daily. Breakfast was good although the sausages were not great, there was plenty of choice with good size portions. I most definitely go back. Great value for money.

Room Tip: Rooms at front a bit noisy due to main road.

Ann came to our rescue as there was a mix up at another hotel and we were room less
Lovely sweet guest house. If your looking for a sweet place to stay with great value book it.
Breakfast is amazing and a great place that has a lovely feature tartan carpet giving it a local feel.
Handy buses outside direct to the city and Ann advises you were to eat and drink and go.
Would stay again.
Rod x

I stayed here for 5 nights and was very impressed. The landlady is very helpful and polite and the breakfasts were so big I struggled to get going after them in the morning. Also the tea is nice and strong! No complaints whatsoever about my stay. I shall be returning.

Stayed at the Emerald with my fiancé and another couple for 2 nights over New Year, and had a great time. Very welcoming, lovely rooms. About 15mins bus ride onto the royal mile but the bus stop is right outside the b&b with regular buses. Flexible checking out time (we were all a little hungover and should have checked out at 10, but was assured there was no rush by Annie the owner of the b&b!)

Stayed: December 2012, travelled with friends
