“Sat 13th March 2010 - VERY IMPRESSED!”
Reviewed 16 March 2010

We were down for the Scotland v England rugby match. Staff very helpful and polite. As we arrived too early for check in (check in 3pm - a little on the late side perhaps), the staff allowed us to store our luggage in a locked area until check in was available.
Apartment very clean, modern and very spacious.
The staff also offered to book us a taxi without us having to ask them to do so-using initiative very impressive!!
Kept our bags after check out aswell until we were ready to get our train home.
Very central location, ideal for city centre and surrounding attractions.
Highly recommend these apartments and will be staying here in the future definitely.

Stayed here for 2 nights (mon-weds) booked on the strength of reviews on here and it being a bit different to the normal hotels. Check in was smooth and swift got into the apartment and was very impressed, clean , modern and stylish. Was a bit worried when reception said we were on floor -2 so thought we may have been in the dungeons! Due to the layout of the building we were overlooking the train station which wasn't a problem as the double glazing was very good.

I had ordered a "Welcome pack" to be there so we wouldn't have to do any shopping but this wasn't there. Apparently it hadn't been delivered, really!!? The payment for this was refunded straight away so no problem there. Although I was a bit miffed that I then had to go shopping.

At 8.15am the next morning there was a tentative knock at the door and before I had a chance to open it in walked the Scottish version of the "Chuckle brothers" saying they needed to paint a patch on the ceiling! Needless to say I was not impressed and sent them away. After a quick phonecall to reception they apologised profusely and said they would speak to the painters. Then about 45mins later again a knock at the door and door opens, this time it's the maintenance man needing to check the lights!! Again he got told to "go away". Guess what? 30mins later it's house keeping time!! At this point I gave up and let him get on with it! So by 945am we'd had 3 disturbances.

On our way out to have a wander round Edinburgh I popped my head in to reception and again received profuse apologies.

But let's put this into perspective. These suites are well run, clean, well located and good value. I think we were just unlucky. I would stay here again as it's nice not to be in a stuffy generic looking hotel.

Stayed in the Princes Street Suites in Jan 2010 with 3 friends, in a 2 bedroomed apartment. On check in we found the reception staff very welcoming and helpful. On entrance to the apartment we were amazed at how luxurious, comfortable and clean it was. The only downfall was it lacked a second bathroom / en suite. The location was fantastic as it is right at the top of the main shopping street. Would definately recommend and would definately visit again.

Lovely apartment which was warm, well equipped, peaceful and a prime position for New Years eve and attractions. Found the staff on reception very helpful and even upgraded to a two bedded apartment. Would definately come back again and recommend to others. One little moan, the basin in the bathroom a little small as only one.

Just returned from a new year stay at the Princes Street Suites and had a great time.
Apartments were clean and well maintained. Very modern and stylish. There is also a great roof terrace where we were able to watch the fireworks at midnight. Would definitely go back.

We stayed in Princes Street Suites recently in a two bedroomed apartment. Our teenagers are 16 and 14 and we would need two hotel rooms which can be expensive. We were amazed by the standard of the rooms. All rooms were large, stylish and had pretty much everything you need while on a break with a teenage family. The staff were friendly and unobtrusive. This location was central, a five minute walk from the Airlink bus service at Waverley Bridge. It was a stone's throw from the Princes Street shopping area, next door to the King James Shopping Mall which includes a huge John Lewis Department store and two minutes walk to the cinema to entertain the teenagers in the evening. Great value too when compared with the cost of two rooms in a hotel. If you have teenagers or a young family this is the place to stay in Edinburgh - you won't be disappointed.

Due to maintenance issues I was moved to a different hotel for the first night of my stay but was upgraded to a 2 br apt on my return. Well stocked kitchen allows travellers to prepare breakfasts before exploring EDI. Having laundry facilities in room was very handy. As mentioned in another review, the shower leaks onto the bathroom floor. This is a bit of a nuisance. Otherwise, very nicely laid out and furnished room. Definitely, most under-used area of the hotel is the roof. Great views and just a real nice place to sit and relax.
