I have just spent the weekend at Martins. I have stayed in many guesthouses in Edinburgh, but this is by far the best. The owners made us instantly welcome, and by our time of departure felt like one of the family! The guesthouse is spotless, the breakfast was also great. The owners have surrounded themselves with a very professional team, i would certainly recommend it, and will definately be back- in fact we are hoping to stay there this coming weekend! ( excuse the grammar )!

Unfortunately we didn't get to stay the night at this B&B as we were travelling from Australia and were without a phone or access to email (a friend booked for us). Therefore, we had not realised you need to check in before 3 pm! As I am with my older mother, who is unwell, when we arrived there was no one there! At 3.20pm! We called several times, to no avail, so booked another place, as my mother was getting more tired and unwell. When they finally called us back, on our friends phone (who saved the day), we were rudely told that they would charge us for the room if no one else booked in! Even though there was no one there and we had no details of how to get the keys! So make sure that you stay here if you have a simple arrangement, and are within the same country, otherwise go to the place down the road where someone is always at the desk and is very lovely!

Just finishing four night stay at this B&B. Let one of the cheaper rooms without en suite but was not a problem gaining access. Bus stop is right outside and Haymarket train station less than a mile. Be sure to
Prearrange car parking. This is on their website but not in the booking company information. We didn't but Denise went out of her way make it all work out. Excellent service by all staff!

We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay. We had a big spacious room with a shared bathroom. The room was cleaned and there was all that we needed.

We had an incident, that caused us to need to get a hold of the police, and the Landlady Denise was helpful beyond what could be expected. On two occations she drove us to where we needed to go to help us out. Very very nice lady.

One little tip though - be sure to book the time of arrival to ensure that Denise is home to greet you.

We have been visiting Martin's Guest House annually for the Six Nations for many years. The hosts are extremely friendly, always provide good advice and will do everything possible to help with anything in relation to the stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable with every need taken care of. Breakfast provided is always hearty, well cooked and presented.
