Quaint, tasty savoury bites followed by great scones and clotted cream. Not forgetting the sweet treats before chocolate trolley with amazing fruit loaf. Very relaxing with unobtrusive harpist setting a great mood. The team were very busy - too stretched at times but they apologised and kept smiling. Well done.

We booked champagne afternoon tea for my mother in laws birthday. Had a wonderful experience. The service was first class, especially Viktoria who was so attentive. Palm Court was elegant but very relaxing, the harpist was beautiful and the rendition of Happy Birthday with the cakes (complete with candle and decorated plate) for the birthday was a lovely touch. The food was first class - one of our faves was the coronation chicken tart delicious! I have been for several afternoon teas and they are generally a disappointment and you feel a bit cheated for the price but this was worth every penny. All the little extra touches were lovely eg. uneaten scones in a lovely box with pots of jam, little tea caddys to take home... a true experience. Wonderful. Thank you Palm Court and thank you Viktoria for making her day so special. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone and no doubt will return in the future!!

Such a fabulous treat, afternoon tea in this impressive hotel, on a grey November day! Wonderful service, delicious sandwiches, savouries and cake, and of course, tea! We had a harpist play gentle tunes, which made for a great afternoon.

Delighted by our Afternoon Tea at the Balmoral--the setting is grand but far from stuffy, so that guests can be as fancy or as casual as they like. It was so nice to be seated in soft-cushioned couches and treated to course after course of dainty delicacies. Everything (sandwiches, cakes, and sweets) were exquisitely prepared, ingenious and filled with terrific flavors. The tea was a whole new level of divine, freshly brewed and served from a sterling silver teapot into porcelain cups. We took nearly 2 hours to finish all, and nobody rushed us or asked us to leave.

Our server, Ricardo, was the consummate professional who guided us through our options and treated us with great respect. I was especially impressed with his ability to float about the room and deal with all of us and our requests, all the while smiling and having a good time, but keeping to the authentic and sophisticated air of the place. Really fun thing to do, either for a celebration (birthday, engagement, etc.), or just to go and enjoy an age-old tradition.
