I stayed here in March and had to return to Edinburgh once again, so I booked in here after my pleasant previous experience. It was a great decision, the place has improved even on the last visit, the breakfast is really good now (I was told they had taken it back from a contractor and now it is part of the hotel), the room was really clean and they now have a small complimentary tea/coffee station in the lobby. Staff very helpful and friendly. Overall, brilliant stay again, this really is a good place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the higher floors with a view.

I was on a business trip to Edinburgh, but felt like I was on holiday as the location is a 30 second walk off a side street and you are on the Royal Mile with all the bars and restaurants that you require. Also, the apartments are about a 4min walk up to the Castle. Reception area and rooms are lovely and boutique chic. Only problem might be the parking but I was fortunate to get a space outside at about 4.30pm. This meant I only had to pay at a parking meter until about 6pm,and as long as I left before 8.30am then that was fine. Think the best rooms are facing Princess Gardens.but my one was lovely anyway overlooking a side street with partial views of the gardens.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking Princess Street gardens - best view.

I was not too sure to book this hotel for a 3 nights stay after the reviews I had reade about the problem with the heating system.
I did not have such a problem, everything was fine.
The location is just perfect, 200m from the castle, everything is accessible by walking distance.
The staff was professional and helpfull.
Our room was quite small but we did not care as we were in there just for sleeping.

Location was perfect, literally a few feet from the royal mile. We ate in the Broadsheet Restaurant on Saturday night and it was just gorgeous food; exactly as the menu described, £50ish for 2 course with wine so not cheap, but it felt like a real treat.
Staff in both the apartments and the restaurant are really welcoming and make sure you have all you need.
Parking is a premium in Edinburgh so nearest car park is about 5 minutes walk away (behind the station) but the Hotel gets a 25% discount - remember to ask for your car park voucher before you leave.
Would definitely come again.

Room Tip: We were on the 6th floor (reception is on 3rd floor!) so had lovely views across the Forth

Booked with online booking service and were thrilled to see we paid a fraction of the normal price. Right on the Royal Mile and had brilliant view from 2 large bay windows towards Princess Street. Room and bathroom were extra large and made for a delightful 2 night stay. Normal apartment kitchen features were also available so you could do your own brekkie etc if you wanted. Shower was a particularly good one as well.

Room Tip: Didn't mean to rate the pool and spa, I think there was a gym but not pool or spa. Don't kno...

Dear Reviewer,

thank you very much for your feedback, I am delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. Our location is ideal for those planning to explore the city and our rooms are all beautifully finished, and with the kitchenettes and the self catering facilities, we believe this is really that "home away from home" place.

I am looking forward to welcoming you back.

Yours sincerely,

Fantastic location with great facilities and friendly staff. Only setbacks were no view from our room or complimentary bubble bath for the Olympic sized bath. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed four nights in July and really appreciated the location and the friendliness of the hotel staff; the hotel and the rooms were very clean.
The hotel is right off the Royal Mile; five minutes to Edinburgh Castle and 10-15 minute walk to the shopping district on Princes St.
We booked this hotel via an online booking service and were able to stay for a fraction of the normal room price; this is the reason for the average value marking because we could not have stayed here if we'd paid the normal room rate.
There are only a few drawbacks...
The room - my wife and I found the bed a bit uncomfortable; no air conditioning which wasn't a problem in our room, 2nd floor, but our friends had a room on the 6th floor and were a bit uncomfortable (the rooms have fans, but even with it running and the window open the 6th floor room was warm).
Finally, we weren't very happy with the internet access; wired broadband was available in the room for a fee, but we had tablets with us so no room access. There was wifi available, but only in the lobby and you had to get a password from the desk. The passwords were good for between 1 & 24 hrs, so you had to get a new one when it expired.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we could reserve the room at the same rate we received on this stay.

Dear Reviewer,

thank you for your comments, I am happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Just a bit of update on the two issues you raised: we now have standalone airconditioning units in the bedrooms (our building is part of the UNESCO world heritage area and therefore listed, so our options are limited). With regards to the wifi, the installation is just about to be completed for our new system, so on your next visit you will be able to use the wireless connection in your room. Please note that already have free wifi in the public areas.

Yours sincerely,

Zsolt Jakri
