“Fit for a Princess”
Reviewed 18 May 2014 via mobile

As others have noted, we think that you should go for the Princess Suite It is a corner suite with splendid views. we arrived on a sunday and a group of lads and lassies were alternating playing the pipes all afternoon. The sound wafted up to our tall, eloquent windows and we felt so welcome. the staff is indeed a delight. the location is quite perfect. Based on others, will probably avoid the Bistro, but there are so many great restaurants around, it certainly isn't a problem.

Dear Pgholson,

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay with us in our beautiful Princes Suite, one of our three individually designed bespoke suites. It is a fantastically light room with large windows and stained glass which are a very special feature of the property. It has amazing views over Princes Street and Princes Street Gardens which as you know is quite a vista to open the curtains to in the morning!

You were lucky to arrive while the Military Parade was playing outside St Giles cathedral which a was a fantastic display of a traditional pipe band. It certainly does add to the atmosphere to hear the pipers play! We are lucky to be situated so close to the Royal Mile and Mound where so many events pass.

I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the Fraser Suites and hope that you will be returning soon. Perhaps you would like to try our Observatory Suite on your next visit, with a private balcony overlooking Calton Hill it is also a very special room.

Next time you visit I would recommend that you give the bistro a try, the mad hatters tea party is fantastic fun and the breakfast

I look forward to your next visit, we shall certainly do our best to provide another welcome band!

Warm Regards,

Evlyn

My brother and I spent 3 days here at the beginning of a 10 day trip through Scotland. The hotel building is historic, and the room reflects the best of old and new: tall ceilings and windows, yet modern fixtures and furnishings. The service was excellent. Shay was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful beyond our expectations. We were sorry to leave!

Dear Ken M
Thank you for your 5 star review of Fraser Suites Edinburgh. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed so many aspects of your stay with us. The property itself is a listed building dating back to 1750 and was originally the newspaper press for the Courant Newspaper. We've always strived to achieve the balance between the old and the new along with gold standard customer service.
Your comments about Shay have been passed on. Our staff are always happy to help and are best pleased when a guest leaves happy.
I hope we are able to welcome you back to Fraser Suites Edinburgh in the future and that you enjoyed the rest of your trip round Scotland.
Kind Regards

My husband and I stayed for one night at the Fraser Suites over May bank holiday weekend, and we wish we could have stayed for longer! The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and friendly and our room was just amazing. We stayed in the Princess Suite which had the most spectacular views over Edinburgh - we even took advantage of paying for a slightly later check out just so we could enjoy the room and the views for a bit longer. The hotel was clean and in a brilliant location, just off the Royal Mile and only a 5 minute walk (up some steep steps) from the train station where we got a bus to the airport. The room was definitely worth paying the extra for. The room was also very quiet dispite being amongst the hustle and bustle.

The only disappointment was the breakfast. This wasn't included in the price of our room so we paid £9.00 or so each for breakfast in the bistro. It wasn't the best and I wish we'd had gone out for breakfast instead!

We stayed at the Fraser Suites on a recommendation from friends, and I wouldn't hesitate to tell my family and friends to stay here too.

Room Tip: The Princess Suite was a real treat and definitely worth the extra money for the view and walk in wa...

Thank you for taking the time to write your 5 star review of our property. I am delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. The Princes Suite is one of 3 Bespoke Suites that we have in Fraser Suites Edinburgh. Each individual in design and with unique features. The Princes Suite really is special and I'm glad you got to make the most of the stunning views over Princes Street Gardens and beyond.

I do hope we may be able to welcome you to Fraser Suites Edinburgh again in the future. If you do come to stay again, why not try one of our other Suites like the Observatory Suite, which has it's own private balcony overlooking Calton Hill.

I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with breakfast. We have passed these comments on to the restaurant as we continually strive to better all our services to our guests.

We look forward to offering you a warm welcome at Fraser Suites Edinburgh again .

Got v upset with housekeeping. Thought they were re folding dirty towels from the floor so put a mark on one- and they were. Reception reacted well but damage done. Also request for clean sheets, fix broken TV, replace water all ignored. Plus carpet in room scruffy and dirty looking.

Dear doonstair s

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding our property. I am concerned about the experience you have had during your stay and would like to discuss this further with you. This certainly isn't the gold standard service that we continually strive for and that all our guests should expect.

Please feel free to drop me a line directly on jennifer.connolly@frasershospitality.com so I can look into this matter further.

Great value and great location. 5 min walk from the train station and the Airlink bus from the airport. Right off the Royal Mile but tucked away so it's very quiet. Rooms are larger than expected and very clean and modern. Was impressed!

Lovely hotel right across from St. Giles and very close to Royal Mile. Nice rooms with standard amenities. Hotel was quiet and felt insulated from street noise. Rooms were a nice size and were a good value for the rate/location.

It is several years since our 3 night stay (April 2011) but my memory is of classy, cozy, peaceful and spacious accommodation in a great location. We were lucky to receive an upgrade to a one bedroom apartment (room 613) which offered a fully separated bedroom and lounge/kitchen, as well as fine big bathroom. All three rooms had large windows with great city views.

Unfortunately breakfast was a let-down in the context of the room standard and price paid.
