Just came home from a night away with my hubby, he picked the g&v.. Used to be the missoni! Well we had a fantastic stay.. Received a very friendly and warm welcome.. We were early in checking in so managed to leave our bags. By the time we came back checked in, our bags were already in our rooms. Room was beautiful, bed was one the the comfiest hotel beds iv slept in. Well air conditioned room. Great view. Very modern. Breakfast was included in our price which was also lovely.. Great selection of things to choose from. Also a great place for just a drink at night time.. Great selections of cocktails and a lovely bar area. Would love to stay here again. Highly recommend it.

My daughter and I stayed here after a long flight from San Francisco. The hotel is beautiful, the staff was very pleasant, and the room we upgraded to had a fabulous view and a delicious buffet breakfast. The beds were soft and comfortable and the room was pretty quiet for being on a busy street. The best benefit was walking out the door to the Royal Mile and having the entire area within easy walking distance for exploring. I fell in love with the rain shower, and felt very pampered here. It is not cheap, but you do receive first class treatment in return for the rate you pay.

Room Tip: We had a higher floor with a view of the hills and the ocean.

My son and I spent the weekend in Edinburgh as he is studying abroad in London. We stayed at the G&V Hotel and I can't say enough good things about it. First of all our room had the most astonishing view of the city and the North Sea. The staff way extremely accommodating and knew where all the good restaurants and clubs were.
I also recommend the spa. I had one of the best massages of my life!
Don't be put off by the funky decorating- bad 60's, because every thing else is so wonderful.

Room Tip: get one with the spectacular view..room 501

Very funky hotel and great for a girls' weekend. I think the decor would have been wasted on my husband! Despite a wee hold up at reception, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a top floor room with spectacular views and a lovely large bathroom. This was an ideal base for our shopping trip and we also enjoyed an afternoon tea on the Sunday afternoon. Our waitress was very attentive. The doormen were especially welcoming and friendly. Would definitely consider coming back. However, in my opinion, this is more of a woman's hotel - lots of pink and purple.

Room Tip: Fantastic view of the old town from the top floor.

Since I was there (April 2014) the Hotel changed its brand: no ore Missoni, but G&V Royal Mile. Fortunately, the content is unchanged; making it one of the nicest and more comfortable hotel in the UK. Designed, up to the last detail, by Italian designers family Missoni, The stigma they leaved is simply fantastic. Design rooms, bathrooms, hall, common spaces, all at the world top. Fantastic, multilingual staff, not bad (event thought you're in Scotland) the eatery and drinks. I highly recommend to all business and upscale private traveller who appreciate the classy environment. Unforgettable experience.

Room Tip: I saw three, My room was a superior - excellent, but two others, standard not bad at all!

This was a treat after a busy year. The service was excellent, with all our needs anticipated before we need to ask! The food was really tasty and the portion sizes perfect. It was a shame to leave and go back into the real world. Looking forward to my next visit.

Dear Kate S,

It's fantastic to read you enjoyed your afternoon tea at G&V Hotel. Honestly, our menu is second to none in Edinburgh. Great food, great service with fabulously dedicated, smiley team members. It is the perfect way to unwind after a morning exploring the city. An absolute must! Our pina colada summer icicles are to die for! We hope to welcome you back next time in the near future. Maybe you might be able to combine your afternoon tea with a cheeky one night stay. All the best for the summer,
