I work in banking so found this museum very interesting. Even young children would enjoy it as there is a case containing one million pounds and they can do brass rubbing and coin stamping.

The Museum on the Mound charts the rise of the bank of Scotland . It also has one million pounds on display - and what a lot of money that is!
It is a small museum but very well laid out and full of interesting facts and odd artifacts. It is also free and a good way to brush up on your awareness of how banks came into being and why we need them!

We spent an enjoyable hour in this Museum of banking and currency. It is located in the former headquarters building of the Bankof scotland (now part of Lloyds) and is free. It was very interesting and the displays are very well presented.

Decided to visit this museum on the spur of the moment mainly as I wanted to see what a million pounds looks like. it is a small and compact museum but very informative. No guides as you just walk through various rooms and glean the information from display cases and wall plaques. Young children who are more used to interactive screens will probably not enjoy a visit but those who are more hands on will enjoy.

This is a very interesting museum where you can learn about all facets of money. It is set up by Bank of Scotland at its head quarters. You can see million pounds and there is demonstration in the afternoon when I visited as to how coins are struck. There are many visual displays that are educative and informative.
This is not a Museum for Children and general visitors. But would certainly appeal to people interested in Money and Finance
