Description: Open since 2005, The Manna House is a local craft bakery and patisserie with a small cafe so you can enjoy our sweets and savories to eat in. We bake fresh bread everyday Monday to Saturday – producing everything from white bloomers, multigrain loaves and wholemeal harvesters to more unusual bread like rye & caraway or black olive sourdough. We specialize in fine French patisserie and can make wonderful celebration cakes to order - our carrot cakes, chocolate brownies and blueberry bundts all have a big following.Franco our savory chef makes fresh salads and tasty treats everyday to sit in or to take away with quiches, fresh pizza and pies among our favorites.

The Manna House had a great selection of fresh salads and sandwiches for lunch. The prices were extremely reasonable. If you go later in the afternoon the selection is depleted. The bakery items are very good. I would recommend their blueberry cobbler. It is a very small shop and seating is limited. It appeared a lot of local folks frequent the shop.

The breads are too!

Okay, I admit it -I seem to fall in love every time I come in to The Manna House. If it's not a member of staff, it's potentially another customer and when all else fails -it's definitely the food!

I'm never disappointed with this place.

Great food.

Great service.

Great time!

I love their products, but the coffee is mediocre and the place isn't great for sitting in. Very busy (good for them!), however there isn't much space there with just a few crammed tables so eating in-house can be actually a pretty poor experience. Or no experience at all, especially on weekend mornings when it's hard to find a seat. Still, their bakery is excellent and surpasses every other in Edinburgh (perhaps except Falko in Bruntsfield, but they are super-expensive). Worth a visit.

The Manna House became our default-stop for coffees, croissants, soups and artisan breads during our three days stay in the the Holyrood area of Edinburgh. My wife has recently started baking her own bread at home and I couldn't keep her out of this place! Manna bake and sell a wide range of breads, filled sandwiches and rolls, and very tasted salads. All very reasonably priced (a loaf was typically £2-£2.50) and great service too. We loved the place!
