Good nights sleep as the bed was so comfortable, breakfast was a bargain and all you could eat. Dani on the desk was really friendly and showed us places to visit. Perfect stay in Edinburgh. Easily accessible by public transport and just of princess street and near castle! Great location.

Thank you for a great review, and thanks for mentioning our great breakfast, it really does offer good value. Dani and the team are always happy to help with their knowledge of the city. Kind regards Javeed Anwar

Such a good location, bang in the centre of town. Walking distance of different attractions. Room was very cosy and just right size, very comfortable. We had bunk beds but there were options for double rooms but this was right for our overnight stay. Only thing I would say was the reception on tv was not good but we were not fussed by this. Staff extremely friendly and very helpful and polite. Would be happy to stay there again, great value for money.

Thanks for the great review, we will check out the TV reception issue (maybe a loose aerial connection) and get it resolved. Kind regards Javeed Anwar

Booked this hotel as I was attending a concert nearby at the Usher Hall....

On entering room it was very small but adequate for my needs, it was really just someone to sleep after the concert. Also free WiFi was good...

Sadly my issue arose on returning to my room at midnight, when I went to my bed i quickly discovered that my room was next door to the lift and the lift machinery so every time someone used the lift I could here the whirling of the machinery plus my room window would vibrate.

Due to the late hour plus I was only staying a night I decided not to complain but grin and bear it, sadly this resulted in a sleepless night for me thus I decided to check out at 7.00am and catch the train home to go to bed....

I would still tell me folks to use this hotel but make sure your room is nowhere near the left....

Room Tip: Avoid Rooms Near The Lift

Great location just on the top of Princess street, and you can find a big supermarket just in front of the hotel door and can find anther big super market beside the hotel door.
Nice SMALL modern furnished room with flat tv, boiler, iron & safe box.
There is an elevator.
Comfort bed & pillows.
Very good wifi in the room.
Clean small bathroom.
Expensive breakfast so we used to bring our stuff from the bakery I front of us.
You can reach to the hotel from the airport & going back by the airport bus for cheap, and the station is just beside the hotel.

Visited in September 2013 for 2 nights..
Direct bus to Shandwik Plc from the airport..The staff were friendly..Rooms were good and clean though abit less spacious for the price paid,. iron and hair dryer was provided...bed was quite comfortable.. the main plus point was the location...all the attractions, shopping centre, restaurants were ten mins walk away...

Hotel is ex-travel lodge, but very few signs of the old days.

Rooms are tastefully decorated (not as bold as pictures may appear), pretty tight but still roomy enough to not feel cramped. Can get quite warm so get the radiator switched off otherwise having the window open will be too noisy!

Room Tip: Try get a rear room to avoid street noise

Me and my boyfriend stayed for two nights in early november. Not only was the location of the hotel great (walking distance to everything and right by the airlink bus stop), the rooms clean and comfortable, but the staff were great! We accidentally left a wallet, and Simone and Shelagh were kind enough to let us know immediately by email. Since we live in Sweden, and could not get brittish stamps in an easy manner, they went the extra mile and sent the wallet to us free of charge! Such service is beyond what I've experienced anywhere else, and I'd gladly go back there! Definitely will stay there again next time I'm in Edinburgh!
