Description: No matter where you are in Spain, a moments walk from the main tourist traps will almost always immerse you in the hustle and bustle of real Spanish life- busy bars and restaurants full of animated discussions conducted over fresh, homemade food. With this in mind, we selected our home of 19 Shore Place as the perfect venue to recreate this wonderful ambiance in Edinburgh.

Unfornutely we had a bad experience, expensive place, food was cold, 2 glasses dirty, staff laughing behind and we had to ask twice for some more water.. Could be such amazing place, the ambience is so good but the service is poor and the food is expensive for the quality.
Hope they will change. Could be the best restaurant in Leith.

A friend suggested we try Tapa - tucked behind Mimi's original Bakehouse at the Shore in Leith - for my youngest daughter's 22nd birthday tea pre a sentimental cinema outing to see the BFG at Ocean Terminal.
We were not disappointed. Charming place - I was not surprised to learn that they also host small weddings - and charming service too. So to the food and drink offer - well, we are in our family, all gin, wine and tapas champions and pride ourselves on knowing quality in all three when we find it. And we did. The gin menu and aesthetic is fabulous and generous, the wine menu quite satisfactory and the tapas simply mouth watering. There is a good balance of vegetarian classic and edgier dishes and a whole host of meaty treats. The black pudding with quails eggs was almost too beautiful to eat (but I managed)! The only slight disappointment for a mostly non red meat eater was only one chicken dish - nice as it was. More chicken or white meat choices please?
So to the fish/seafood menu - well - great range and highest quality in presentation and taste (I love my seafood) - the cod and prawn skewers were a particular favourite for me. As a seafood tapas fan I will return again and again. Word of warning, if you don't like manchego cheese just don't bother going - but if you like your tapas - whether or not you are a meat eater - and you like fairy lights - this is the place to be. Cost - what you would expect and for the quality of food and experience - no less than its worth. Couldn't have been a happier family (with no room for ice cream at the cinema).

we had been to Tapa on a number of occasions but the menu has changed since our last visit. Some of the tapas were expensive for the portion size and ingredients of the dish. Couldn't fault the taste and service.

Decided to persuade partner to go for something different instead of his usual Italian cuisine. We were not disappointed, checked out Spanish tapas on trip advisor good reviews. Hidden down a side street, small parking area, we thought it looked quite small but in side is larger with another room also for eating. Nice and rustic, very clean and nice ambience. Starters not to my partners taste, though he loved the bread with dips, I loved it all. Main meal we both enjoyed immensely, two fish dishes and chicken dish with very tasty potato and greens dishes. Would recommend and also we will return. Lovely friendly staff who explain dishes to you.

Great location on the shore of Leith just 10-15 mins on the bus from Edinburgh centre, get the number 22 as they run every 10mins. Lots of the staff are from Spain but u also have the local Scots too. I have been here about 7 or 8 times now and each time has been the same fantastic experience. The staff or super friendly and helpful. The food is just so tasty and fresh you go mmmmmm with every mouthful. The only slight problem I have is that it's a bit on the pricey side averaging £7 a dish and altho the food fantastic the portions can be a bit small. You get what you pay for tho and it is amazing so a nice treat!
