For an overnight stay before an early departure or even for a very low cost way of staying in Edinburgh (there are buses right into the city from nearby) it would be difficult to beat the Airport Travelodge.
I could hardly belive that the £22 that was quoted to us was for a double room, yet the accommodation was modern, clean and comfortable and the restaurant served a good breakfast and a range of evening meals - all at good prices.
The hotel overlooks the airport and we were on that side but the double set of double glazed windows means that the sound is not a problem. You could, of course, always ask for a room on the courtyard side.

Room Tip: If you think the slight murmur of departing aircraft or passing traffic might disturb you, ask for a...

I stayed here before flying off next morning. The room overlooked the main road and despite additional glazing it led to a difficult night's sleep due to passing traffic. Air con would also help as the basic but comfortable room was very warm. Staff were pleasant. Parking was very limited.

I regularly spend a night at Edinburgh airport Travel Lodge every 2 to Three weeks. The staff are very friendly and attentive and I am made extremely welcome. The food is good, the surroundings are clean and inviting and the rooms are very comfortable have recently been upgraded to a very high standard indeed. I would recommend this highly to anyone either for business or pleasure. A shuttle taxi service to the airport is available at reasonable cost.

Very near Edinburgh Airport and excellent for an overnight stay before early morning flight. The room was clean and comfortable, staff welcoming and our meal was hot and tasty. Excellent value for money.

booked a room well in advance for going to after arrive from my holiday for me and my boyfriend, we got put in a disabled room with 2 single beds, only got 1 towel, room didn't even have a remote(only a problem since it's a disabled room) the door handle/door rattled very loudly as soon as anything went past the building or someone walked past, and considering it's located on a busy road it was very often, which left for one of the worst sleeps we've ever had, which caused us to leave early as it was so annoying, also when people were walking upstairs it cause things in the room to make a noise as well, then the cleaner started hoovering before 9 in the morning waking us up again, shocking, will not be returning, would rather pay extra for something better.

The hotel is bright and airy and either recently refurbished or relatively new. The disabled rooms even have roll in showers which shows that even Travelodge move with the times. Disabled parking is right outside the entrance, but a tour bus took up 2 of the spaces and the others were parking in by non Blue Badge holders. It looks like the car park is way too small for the hotel. The rooms were extremely clean, and beds and bed linen fresh. A single plastic chair was all that was provided to sit on and this was extremely uncomfortable after a very short time.

Reception Staff all seemed to have two jobs and performed neither of them well. They were friendly but not terribly efficient as there was always a queue to check in. The main door to the bedrooms had a very strong slf closing spring, which is totally unsuitable to a person with mobility difficulties and the lift doors closed way to quickly.

The hotel is located at the end of the runway of Edinburgh Airport making it noisy with the windows open and way too hot with them closed. The constant movement of people leaving by taxi to the airport also made for lots extra noise. Both of these made for a poor nights sleep.

The Cafe-Bar restaurant was very poorly laid out, had cheap plastic tables and chairs and tables were not cleared off at sufficient speed, some guest actually cleared their own tables before they could sit down. We had chosen to prebook evening meals and breakfasts on-line and very quickly wish we hadn't. The Cheese Natcho's were accompanied by blobs of green goo, red lumpy goo and white goo, all of which tasted unpleasant and very unappetising. My chicken curry needed some chicken in it, and my wife's battered fish was swimming is fat. We both spent the rest of the evening and the following day feeling unwell. Breakfast was buffet service and whilst it was better than the previous evening it was still poor. Items kept running out and were not being replenished as the staff were just trying to do too many things at once. This was bus station food at its worst.

I realise that Travelodge is the cheaper end of the market and did not expect the Hilton. However I do expect the place to be clean and comfortable (it was) and the food to be edible (it wasn't).

Convenient night stop before an early morning flight. Have stayed before and was impressed. This time was far more expensive and things not so good. Will stay again if the price is right as it is ver convenient for the airport. Will look out for good deals though
