Had a lovely weekend here for my birthday. Great location, a few mins to stroll to Haymarket and 10 mins to the west end/Princes st. Quality of the furnishings/bedding etc is excellent. The rainshower was amazing, what a beautiful modern bathroom. All mod cons you would expect in a 4 star hotel! Virgin TV so you can even record something & watch it later. Derek is a fantastic host and always on hand for help/advice. Breakfast is a lovely start to the day, looking out over the open view. You really get the personal touch here, highly recommended.

We have just spent two nights at this B&B and the one word to describe it is fantastic, food, room, cleanliness , decor & furnishing could not be faulted and it had the best shower room i've ever had in some of the big hotels.Derek could not have been nicer.

There are to many words to describe the B&B , or should it be described as a 5* mini hotel .
I have stayed in many a b&b and many a hotel , Nothing has came near to the luxury alburrys. has to offer , from .Cotton egyption sheets , a mini bar in the room , virgin tv, i pod docks, free wifi , a shower room that i just wanted to spend my day in , chrome fittings and black tiled walls, mmmmm!!!!.
The Host Derrick was so warm and friendly i felt like i had know him for years and i was up visiting , his breakfasts WELL!!! tasting is beleiving , the man can cook and again i felt like i had a 5* breakfast ., natural ingridientnts and cooked to order .
Derek showe me around the house and i will be returning to venture into the robin suite, the idea of my own livingroom with all the gadgets and movies and cds i can only dream of at home , has me already checking my calander for next years dates , and this time i have a big bath to indugle in .
so to sum it all up , alburrys has to be the best place i have stepped foot in for 12 years , Clean, friendly , luxury, goodbye edinburgh hotels and hello my new second home when visiting edinburgh .
thankyou derrick for your hospitality , and lovelyto meet you wife and 2 cats ,whom also were all so lovely ;))

I've just returned from a 2 night break at Allburys and was charmed and delighted by the quality of this place. The suite was luxurious and absolutely spotless, with wonderful views over the rooftops of Edinburgh. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome and loved the personalized touches and the fantastic freshly cooked breakfast from Derrick. It really is a home from home, I cant recommend it highly enough. Thank you!

Went to this B&B on a 2 night Groupon deal for my 71st birthday, and what a surprise, only 3 letting rooms, but the quality puts many larger hotels to shame, the quality of the decor and facilities was amazing, and Derek couldn't have been nicer, his two cats were equally nice.
The breakfasts were superb, all fresh ingredients, the beds were the comfiest we have slept in for ages, (Including our own). Will certainly keep this Gem in mind for future Edinburgh visits.

Had an absolutely fantastic wee break here, room, bed, bathroom, sitting room, the girls (Derricks 2 cats) breakfast, location, EVERYTHING was just fabulous. One thing Derrick certainly likes his gadgets, even had Jon upset, cause he's a gadget man too. Can't really say anymore than has been said in past reviews but love, love, loved it!
