We spent the last night of our Scotland trip at Allburys and accommodation wise, it was the absolut highlight.
Beds, fit for a queen to sleep in, tasteful furnishings, selected with a loving hand for detail. The room had a wonderful, spa like bathroom as well, what a treat!
Derrick is a great cook and breakfast was yet another highlight. We could not decide so got close to taking everything, from mellon balls with greek yoghurt and stem ginger, baked eggs with bread soldiers to pancakes. Next time it will need to be the full Scottish breakfast for sure.
Only one regret remains, that we stayed for one night only...

Allburys is the place you feel welcome and are treated like royalty! The elegantly furnished B&B near the city center is the perfect place to experience Edinburgh from. Derrick is the most thoughtful and lovely host. After sleeping in luxurious eiderdown you are treated to an exquisite home cooked breakfast of your choice, made from only the best organic ingredients. All senses are involved at that beautiful place. Looking already forward to the next visit!

We arrived at Allburys to find that Derrick had place a bottle of champagne and a greeting card in our room....what can we say except fantastic. Our room (Robin) was a delight and our separate lounge very welcoming. Both rooms faced east so we got the rising sun in the morning over a view of Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's seat. The decor in all the rooms, bathroom included was very classy and very well maintained. The breakfast was excellent with a vast choice on the menu and was just what was needed to start the day off before we explore the area. Allburys is well situated for all that the area has to offer and a 5. minute tram ride go us into Princess street. A boutique b&b that certainly lives up to it's name.

Room Tip: If possible try the Robin room

My husband and I stayed in the Jay room for four nights recently and everything was perfect - the bed was super comfy, the room decorated beautifully and the new bathroom had an outstanding shower much appreciated after a day of exploring Edinburgh. Derrick's breakfasts are delicious and served with flare and great music and conversation. Also invaluable were the great dinner and local color recommendations from Derrick. He and Lindsay were exceptional hosts.
