B&B is in a good location, about 10 minutes walk to the centre of Edinburgh, though no parking is available on site. Room small but clean. The host was helpful and friendly though breakfast was slow and ill timed and with other guests at the shared breakfast table the wait was lengthy though food was pre-booked the night before. The meowing cats kept us await most nights or woke us early mornings.

I would highly recommend staying here. Derrick the owner and host was very helpful with all the details of our trip. He gave directions, set up reservations for dinner, and cooked up a wonderful breakfast. The homemade bread was superb. The B&B is less than a mile from the Royal Mile. It was a very nice walk although we did make use of a taxi every now and then. The rooms are wonderful and cozy. I stayed on the top floor which had a view of the cathedral spires and Arthur's Seat. My brother and sister in law stayed in the bedroom and I stayed in the sitting room which was totally separate room. Check out the walking path by the river that is only a block away. It is like a nature trail in the heart of the city.

My teenage daughter and I spent 3 nights at Allburys, and had a fantastic time there. Derek looked after us completely offering useful advice and assisting us to settle in so that we could make the most of our Edinburgh experience.

The room was sumptuous and the bathroom was exquisite. Derek was very accommodating with assistance regarding local attractions and practical information (which bus to catch).

Derek's cooking is amazing, and worth the stay just for that!

We would definately return to Allburys

My husband and I had the pleasure of being guests of Derrick Wrenn and his lovely boutigue lodging. It was close to city centre and beautifully decorated. It is obvious Derrick pays close attention to provide for the needs and wishes of his guests. He even went out of his way to add coins to our parking so we would not have to interrupt our walk into city centre.

Breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed our conversation. We would highly recommend Allburys.

I stayed with my sis in the Wren room. It had a very comfortable king bed. Both the bedroom and bathrooms were large with skylights which made them nice and sunny. The shower was large and modern and you could use the multiple heads to shower to your heart's content. But don't spend too much time there because you do not want to miss Derrick's (the owner of the B and B) amazing gourmet breakfasts! They are the best in Scotland! He was very friendly and helpful both in person and via email when I first inquired about a room. The house is tastefully decorated and he adds nice touches including a wide selection of teas in the room, Evian water and fresh milk. It is located on a quiet street in the West end of Edinburgh and was an easy 5 minute walk from Haymarket train station and about 20 minutes from the town centre. We felt we lucked out finding this B and B!

We arrived at Edinburgh for a 3 days stay. after travelling around scotland for more than a week, so we were more than exhausted. Allburys is located 20 minutes from the city center but it's easy to go from and to. There many buses, and you can always walk, Location is very quiet, and the house it's nicely decorated. Breakfast is the best part, with a meny to chose from, and Derry that cook for you, and pretty well. And they have a NESSPRESSO, so at least a bonus for cofee lovers, and cofee deprived people. Rooms are spacious and pretty, bathroom it's great. The only setback is the price, but it's worth it to pay for. Excelent relation price/quality
