“Great little cafe for lunch (especially for vegetarians)”
Reviewed 20 August 2010

The Engine Shed is hard to find, but is worth searching for (it is located in a former railway engine shed very near to St Leonard's Police Station and the Nomad's Tent rug shop). The Engine Shed is a Social Enterprise, providing training and employment opportunities to adults with learning difficulties; the cafe serves delicious and imaginative vegetarian food. It is open Mondays-Saturdays from 10am until 4pm. A great place for a good value lunch on Edinburgh's Southside; any vegetarian should make particular note of this place. It is also good to be able to support such a worthwhile project rather than profit-making multiple chain cafes.
