“Lovingly prepared food”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

I love this cafe. I've been for breakfast and lunch and it never fails to impress. The quality of the ingredients really shines and that means that there has been some good cooking going on. The coffee and cakes and scones are also top notch.
The staff in here is also really friendly and personable. They seem to get a lot of tourists in and are brilliant and patient with them.
It can get really busy as there aren't many tables. As long as you don't mind sharing, they will try and get you.

“Friendly service and a delicious breakfast”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

We managed to get a table in this cosy cafe at the third attempt and were delighted that we did! The veggie breakfast was delicious and my scone with clotted cream & jam made an unusual but yummy choice. The staff made everyone feel very welcome and did there best to accommodate as many people as possible in the limited space available. Much nicer and better value than eating breakfast in the hotel. We heartily recommend it!

Probably the best Scottish breakfast we had, all products are fresh and many are locally produced. Simple but delicious food!

“Great lunch spot just off the Royal Mile”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

We stopped here for lunch based on reviews from TA. The Soup & Sandwich were great. All the food is locally sourced and prepared fresh. The bread was great. There isn't much seating inside so be weary during peak time. Had carrot cake for dessert and it was very good.
