We cannot believe we found this Travelodge so close to the city centre, a short walk from the railway station and a shorter walk to Princess street. Perfect for a weekend or brief stay. And plenty pubs/eating places on this street and within the total area. The only drawback is there is no parking, but the bus station and train station are within such a short distance. Will definitely stay there again.

Stayed here from 13th May for two nights. Massive room, lovely bed, good shower with plenty of hot water. Small but servicable wardrobe space. Tea and coffee making facilities. My only gripe is that the room space is wasted, as when you're drinking tea/coffee, you have to sit on the bed. It would be better if there was a small table and a couple of chairs. Other than that we were very pleased with our room. 208 on the second floor which was a corner room, with a bay window and two others, so plenty of light. Some reviewers have mentioned the noise as there is a pub either side of the hotel. We never heard a thing. The hotel is in a perfect location, within all the action and very close to Princes Street. We wouldn't hesitate in staying here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights checking in on Friday and leaving on Sunday - we arrived early in the day and this was not a problem at all, the lovely lady on Reception checked us in straight away before 3pm as the room was ready.
We were allocated to room 104 on the 1st floor - room was spacious and clean, just what you need for a weekend away! There are lots of reviews on here to say how noisy the street was outside and to be fair you can hear noise from outside but it is not a problem in the slightest! We slept right through the night with no disturbances :-)
All in all, it was a great base for our weekend away close to all major attractions including the castle (only a 15 minute walk) We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and will be certainly visiting Edinburgh again very soon!

Room Tip: 104 was a decent room! Pay an extra £10 on your departure day and you can check out at a later tim...

Not knowing Edinburgh we took a punt on which Travelodge to stay at and I'm glad we picked rose street. Rose street itself is in the new town, running parallel to princes street. With shops, bars, pubs and restaurants galore you're spilt for choice for meals, we used wetherspoons and filling station for breakfast as they were literally a few steps away. Room was small, but clean, big shower and comfy bed, all we needed. Only negative was the noise, but i bought ear plugs, problem solved. (Rose street is lively til late and our room was over back street where deliveries and rubbish collection seem to go on at all hours) oh and the infamous cooking smells - the stairs and hallways did smell terrible, sickly chip fat smell, thankfully our room, 105, did not. I couldn't have stood that
Just across the road are princess street gardens and everything is walking distance if you're fit or a fiver in a taxi if you need a rest!

This hotel is ok the rooms are clean and bed is comfortable, but it really is a hotel only to sleep in. the communal areas are not very clean and you have to walk past all the smokers just to get into the hotel, there is no proper parking except a national car park which is near but closes overnight giving you no access to the car if you needed it. all round the hotel serves a purpose but is basic.

rose street is in the heart of Edinburgh.a great position for princes street. The castle and the park. You can walk almost everywhere if you dont mind hills and the Royal yacht is well worth a visit.if you dont want to walk the bus service is very good.

There are a few things you might want to know. Clean and comfortable. No Breakfast Internet is 30 min. free then pay 3 pounds. When the bars let out, the noise will wake you up. About 55 pounds per night.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does NOT face the street.
