New year

Travelodge was in great place, 2 min to pubs. Room was clean and very large , checked in early was no problem . Lovely girl at reception , will definitely return. We were at Edinburgh for new years eve celebration, got our wristbands at a cost of 20 pounds each. Don't get sucked into buying them they r a rip off , carnt leave area n then go back in you arnt allowing. Beer was ridiculous price 5 pound for a small bottle take your own. Pubs were better n busy and we're free, ie you pay vat n delivery on top of ticket price . Had a fab time great atmosphere

Me and my sister came to Edinburgh for New Years. We booked our room and paid £200 for it. I was shocked at what we actually got for our money!! Long storey short, we basically got a extremely uncomfortable bed, a dirty toilet, dirty bath. A shower that was basically a trickle and stayed at one temp!! (COLD!) a kettle that had brown water in!! God knows how long it had been there for!
We at least expected a hair dryer!!! But no nothing like that at all!
The lift was broken and our room was on the 4th floor, this wouldn't be too bad if I didn't suffer from back problems making it extremely difficult to get up and down so many stairs, we where told that it would be fixed by the afternoon and it wasn't!
We both said we would love to go back to Edinburgh but defiantly won't be staying there again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn that you did not enjoy the comfort from our new pocket sprung sleepezee beds and that you found your room did not meet our high standards of cleanliness. We do not provide extras such as hair dryers to keep our costs low, however you can always pop to reception where you can borrow one, our staff are available at all times. We would love it if you could provide more detailed feedback about your stay on our website, so we can look into and solve the issues you've had with the shower and standards of your room.

I've stayed at ths Travelodge a few times now and it is very convenient when staying in Edinburgh. It is located right in the centre of town in Rose street. It's only a few minutes walk from both Waverly train Station and St Andrews Bus Station and is directly behind the main shopping street, Princes Street. Restaurants, Bars and shops all literally next door. Also got this for only £19 a night so really excellent value for money!

The only downfall of the location is that it can be noisy due to the pubs next door, ask for a room at the back if you're easily woken. We were at the front of the hotel directly above a pub that was open until 3am and even then heard very little noise just a few loud people leaving.

The lift was out of order for the whole 3 days we were there which was a bit of a nightmare as we had heavy bags, luckily we were only on the second floor but i'd feel bad for anyone on the 4th floor! I really don't understand why it was out of service for so long as i'd think this was an urgent matter due to guest who may find it difficult to climb stairs!

All staff were friendly and helpful and our room was ver spacious, clean and comfortable. Didn't leave the room one day until after 12pm and the room was still cleaned by housekeeping for us coming back. Will definetly stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

Room tip: ask for a room at the back if noise annoys you easily

We stopped here at the end of December for 2 nights, for the £76!
It's about 1/2 a mile and 5 minutes walk from the station and the entrance is on Rose street just next to Robertson's pub which was open till 3 am, but the room had secondary glazing, and from our room on the second floor we never heard a sound.
The bed was comfortable the room a good size with a kettle and tea and coffee facilities, The bathroom had a large shower and was also clean.
The hotel doesn't serve breakfast but, about 400 feet along Rose street you come to the back of the Wetherspoons pub - The Standing Order, where you can get breakfast and unlimited coffee for under £5. the are also loads of other options along the street.
Brilliant location, Good clean budget hotel, but when you spend all day out and about, not sat in your hotel, why pay more?

Room tip: If you really worry about noise ask to be higher up, they have a lift.

This is our second stay at this hotel. I like it because of the vicinity to the shops and transport. The check in was nice and easy with a friendly receptionist. we had a nice big corner room, VERY CLEAN and the bed was warm and comfortable. Booking a lot in advance got us a very competitive price. Edinburgh could not have been better during this period, early December, lots of Christmas spirit all around. We would happily stay at this hotel any time we are in Edinburgh.

very impressed with room, it was very clean and comfortable, such a shame the lift was out of order as there are a LOT of stairs to climb . It is very central and great for going around central Edinburgh, shops and areas of entertainment are fantastic, I would recommend but check the lift is working first
